With so much working against them, can love prove stronger than the birthright and the biology that separates them?

Review:

Not the best book in this series for me, because everything felt a little lost and there was almost no fight. Payne we met previously in this series and this is her story, but it felt like it was V and Doc Jane book two. There was way too much DR between this couple and after they found each other, I really thought things wereperfect, but V is messed up so a relationship is really difficult for him.

After discovering that Payne was his sister, V kinda lost it, but the book is also about Doc Manello helping Payne walk again and their love story. Nothing too complicated and he didn’t even changed, so a failure to me.

We also got some new and very badass vampires coming to town and creating all kinds of drama with the glymera, making everything more difficult for Wrath in the near future.

Summary:

John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown to himself and to those around him. After he was taken in by the Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was — or his true identity. Indeed, the fallen Brother Darius has returned, but with a different face and a very different destiny. As a vicious personal vendetta takes John into the heart of the war between vampires and their enemies, he will need to call upon both who he is now and who he once was in order to face off against evil incarnate — and rescue his one true love.

Review:

I loved seeing John grow and the changes some dark moments made in his soul. We can see how much he loved Torh and the new life he was introduced to, but everything became more after he met Xhex and we watched that tiny and scared man fall in love. They sounded so different in the first moment and we watched things change over the books, so for me their story is more than just this book.

I loved seeing John and hs fight to have Xhex back after Lash kidnapped her, but the best of all was the way he made her change, not completely, but to accept him and trust in another person, she suffered a lot and we saw some stories from Darius past that are connected with Xhex.

The book is also about Quinn and Blay, we can see their relationship has changed and is now in the verge of completely disappear. Can’t wait for their story.

Summary:

As the vampire warriors of the BLACK DAGGER BROTHERHOODdefend their race from their slayers, one male’s loyalty to the Brotherhood is about to be tested – and his dangerous mixed blood revealed.

Caldwell, New York, has long been the battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the Lessening Society. It’s also where Rehvenge has staked out his turf as a drug lord and owner of a notorious nightclub that caters to the rich and heavily armed. His shadowy reputation is exactly why he’s approached to kill Wrath, the Blind King, and the leader of the Brotherhood.

However, Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood. He’s a symphath and the revelation of his deadly secret will result in his banishment to a colony for sociopaths. And a plot within and outside the Brotherhood take their toll against Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in the darkening world: Ehlena, a vampire untouched by corruption that has its hold on him – and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction.

Photobucket

Review:

Rhevenge was one of my favorites and his book showed his softer sides. He was always concerned about his family and every action was for the good od his family, so seeing this side of him with Ehlena was super cute. Ehlena has suffered a lot in life and now she’s trying to find some happiness, at first I thought these two didn’t fit very good together, but after seeing how strong and secure Ehlena is my points changed and she became a very nice girl.

As always the story also showed the rest of the Brotherhood and this time the focus was on John Matthew and Xhex getting some moments together. I liked these changes in John because it showed his growing into the fine man we all love. Wrath also made a huge appearance and we got to see more of his problems with controlling the vampires and the glymera.

Summary:

Readers met and fell in love with Zsadist and Bella in J. R. Ward’s third New York Times bestselling novel in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Lover Awakened.

As a former blood slave, Zsadist bore the scars from a past filled with suffering and degradation until Bella came along and helped heal his emotional wounds. Now, though, with the birth of their child, the demons of his past have been resurrected, called forth by the innocent eyes of his beloved daughter, Nalla. Unless Bella and Nalla can bring him back with their love, he may be lost to them forever.

Photobucket

Review:

This novella was super cute. Zsadist and Bella are one of my favorite couples in this series and ever since we saw she got pregnant, and how dangerous these moments are for vampires, things changed a little in their relationship. We can see Zsadist more concerned with Bella but talking less about their life. Nalla was born in the end of the previous book and everything looked perfect, but reading this story is clear to me that Zsadist needed more time to understand the new reality and his fears are still very close to the surface, so it took him some difficult moments.

I loved this new glimpse in their life together. I think we could have more insights like this for the other couples, since we lose touch with them as this series grow.

Summary:

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other—six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. And now, a dutiful twin must choose between two lives…

Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood’s bloodlines alive. As Primale of the Chosen, he is obligated to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive, and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished.

As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body but his heart for herself. She is drawn to the noble responsibility behind the emotionally scarred male. But Phury has never allowed himself to know pleasure or joy. As the war with the Lessening Society grows grim, tragedy looms over the Brotherhood’s mansion, and Phury must decide between duty and love…

Photobucket

Review:

Phury was never my favorite and this time I was more focused on the side stories than on his. Cormia is a little to nice for Phury, I think he needed someone like Xhex to control him better, especially now that he became an addict. I loved Quinn and John learning more about their new life “together”. Those scenes with Lash were a little intense but worth it. We can clearly see the war is changing and those lessers are becoming more dangerous now that a leader has arisen.

So to me this book deserves a good rating for the developments in the series more than for the leading couple. We can see Rehvenge being important in this story and even Torh returning. So the book is huge and there’s a lot going on but we are never lost and that is something very important to me.

Summary:

Butch O’Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he’s the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world-to engage in the turf war with the lessers. His heart belongs to a female vampire, Marissa, an aristocratic beauty who’s way out of his league. And if he can’t have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers. But fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When he falls prey to the darkest force in the war and is left for dead, the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him.

Photobucket

Review:

This is V story and again not a favorite of mine. Like Butch the story was too strange for me. I liked Doctor Jane but her finale was way out of Twilight Zone. I wanted them to have more time together. The brothers treated her really well considering she’s only a human. Also was nice meeting the other side where those ladies, Chosen, protect the Scribe Virgin. I think this goddess is a little off and way to selfish, but what God isn’t?

Didn’t like the way she treated V and expected him to follow rules when she has never done anything to save him. She knew of everything that his father has done and never helped. Bad mom for me. But the worst part was the way she simply pushed him to become the Primale, without a choice to say no. The other brothers barely appeared in this book, but we also have the changing for John Matthew. Plus meeting Xhex. I don’t know why but she is a fave of mine.

Review:

This is not my favorite book, mostly because I never really loved Marissa and she is always so perfect, but so full of problems. Butch is a nice guy and I liked him living with the brothers, especially his relationship with Vishous, they are truly great friends and this book showed some changes in their bromance. I like the other stories that as usual happen in this series, the most important is John training. I loved him since Lover Eternal and he’s growing to be a great warrior.

But my huge problem with this book is the fact I don’t love the couple, they are great together, but I just don’t feel a great empathy toward them. Butch is more a human to me than a vampire and his changing was a little too much for me. I understand the only way he could be with Marissa was if he became a vampire, but it changed the dynamic with V and I loved these two changing insults and some love.

Next book is Vishous story and I can’t wait for him to find his other half.

Review:

When you start this series the first guy you actually hate is Zsadist, but in this book we get all the story about his past and his reasons to act impulsively. Phury is his twin brother and we can all see they are completely different, and I loved reading again this book because his story of falling in love was perfect. He’s like a kid and everything was new and dangerous. I loved how helpful Bella was with and even pushed things a little. Zsadist needed a change in his life and we can all see how happiness made him different, even his eye color changed.

Nobody in the brotherhood believed he could be different and I loved seeing this couple. They are just my favorite. The lessers are also getting more dangerous because suddenly Mr. O became forelesser and he’s clearly the best commander so far. We had some dark and very sad moments in this book too. Tohr was like the perfect guy and we can see the hit really damaged him. John is growing more into the great guy we all know and love. The classes started and Lash is already an ass. But for me this book was all about the romance.

Review:

Second book in the series and we got to follow Rhage struglle with his beast and the new love. I liked this book in my first reading, but after starting this read along I got to say most of the stories were blured. Is nice reading for the second time because it made me remember a few moments that I loved and some tiny changes.

Mary was actually a nice girl and I loved the fact she was deaply concerned for Rhage but at the same time she stood up for herself and didn’t let him boss around. She’s super quiet but they made a nice couple and I loved seeing him suffer for her. She had a rough life and her cancer is back, so the future was not perfect, but Rhage decided to stick with her and help. He’s super cute during this book.

Another nice thing is the fact we got to meet John Matthew again. I loved seeing him before the change. He’s such a nice guy and had a difficult path until now, because Torh and Welsie decided to “addopt” him. Anyway can’t wait to read his book again.

There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.

Review:

I read this book so long ago that most of the story was lost to me and it was really great to reconnect with these guys and watch Wrath rise to the throne. This is actually one of my favorite books in this series because we can see them all together and mostly friendly. The Brotherhood is a heavy burden and at the moment was enjoying a quiet time after the lessening society took a major hit.

For the most part this book is about Beth and Wrath relationship, but we also got to meet the other brothers and learn more of this world. Darius is a fine guy and I was sad to see him gone so fast in the story, I think his friendship with Wrath was amazing, especially when the king didn’t actually helped anything. In this book we also have Torh and Welsie happy and pregnant. I liked seeing her again.

Butch was not a great character for me, but I liked his bromance with Vishous. I think that’s a nice spot and broke all the ugliness of their world. Marissa suffered a bit in this book but I can’t feel sorry for her. She sounded like a spoiled princess complaining of something right in her face. Despise the parts I do not enjoy, this was a great book and I read it so fast. This series is addictive.
