I picked Some like it hot by Louisa Edwards (Rising Star Chef #2c

Sexy, single, and even sweeter than the treats he bakes, New York pastry chef Danny Lunden is trying to stay focused on food—not females. With the Rising Star Chef competition approaching, he doesn’t have time to get all steamed up over the gorgeous woman he encounters on the plane to Chicago. Even if she is Eva Jansen—the billionaire heiress in charge of the contest…

Danny assumes that “Eva the Diva” is a spoiled rich girl who doesn’t share his passion for food. But when the two meet up again in an elevator—alone—they share more than just passion. They share a kiss hot enough to start a kitchen fire—and they’re hungry for more. To indulge their new secret craving, Eva and Danny have to break every rule in the cookbook. Why I Started This Book:

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Summary:

During a playful talk about fantasies, Caitlin’s fiancé offers to give her a threesome—with his best friend, Liam, who’s coming to spend the weekend. At first Cait is shocked that Nathan could entertain the thought of sharing her with another man, but once he’s planted the idea her imagination runs wild, leaving her deeply aroused—yet still unsure about what the implications could be for her and Nate’s relationship.

Nathan’s watched Cait struggle to hide her attraction to Liam for years. He knows she’s nervous, but he also knows that by making her most intimate fantasies come true he can bring her to heights of pleasure she’s only imagined, and strengthen their bond. There’s only one way to help her overcome her inhibitions—by planning a night of ecstasy she’ll never forget…

Characters:

  • Caitlin
  • Nathan
  • Lian

My Thoughts:

The book started with pretty powerful words, a conversation between Caitlin and her fiancè Nathan, about his desire to share her with another man. Since before their relationship Nathan has been adventurous about his sex life Caitlin started to fear he was becaming bored.

But on the contrary Nathan is every girls dream, ex-military, pays attention to Caitlin reads and because off that realised that deep down she has fantasies about a treesome, so because off that he decided to give a little help, could he be any more perfect?

Caitlin was not a prude, and her sex life with Nathan was anything from vanilla, taking from anal sex to a light bondage, se tried a bit off everything. This treesome was really something she was thinking, but didn’t have the courage to do it. Nathan’s push was all that she needed.

I found Nathan a bit of contradiction, while he’s very dominant in bed for the rest off things he’s also light, washes dishes after dinner, put clothes on the wash hamper (sounds like the perfect men hmmm)

When Lian appear in the midlle off a steamy kisses, Nathan realises is the perfect moment to push Caitlin to face what she really wants, and boy those guys really know how to work together. They only need head nods to make a point.

I loved how Nathan handled the situation, especially Caitlin fears for the after relationship and his own jealousy, and still continous with a normal friendship. Also loved the fact that Callie put the last chapter on Nathan’s POV, so we can see that he’s also affected by their treesome, differently from the reast of the book that’s all in Caitlin.

Hope this one has a sequel, cause Nathan found his happily ever after, but Lian still suffer to really connect with a woman on a relationship level.

Despite being a novel, I fealt better reading this book knowing they where already on a preview relationship, and tried a different thing.

2012 Immortal Reading Challenge

Another challenge and this one fits right with my reading schedule for the next year. Without small talk I’ll let you guys get to know the rules.
Vampires, angels, demons, werewolves and fae. If you can’t pick a favourite, then that’s okay!

At UTC, we love them all! So let’s celebrate our love for all things immortal with 2012’s Immortal Reading Challenge.

Here’s the rundown:
1. The Immortals Reading Challenge runs from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012. You can join at anytime from now and throughout the year. This is a 2012 challenge, so books read before January 1 will not count to your progress.
2. You pick your goal! Read as many books as you’d like for each species. This means that you can do just one category or all five or a combination of. The choice depends on you and your reading pace.
*We have chosen to have a three book per species standard. However, if this is a breeze for you, then feel free to tackle on the additional bonus entries of two more books of the same level.
3. Re-reads are acceptable.
4. Books chosen can be of any genre.
5. To participate, copy and paste this post on your blog along with the challenge button. We ask that you provide a link back to the sign-up page in case others wish to participate.
6. Readers without blogs can still participate! Keep track of your progress with Goodreads, Shelfari or LibraryThing.

Category 1: Vampires
  • Night huntress series by Jeaniene Frost
  • Night huntress world series by Jeaniene Frost
  • Blue Bloods series by Melissa de La cruz
Category 2: Angels and Demons
  • Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter
  • Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead
  • Nightwalkers series by Jacquelyn Frank
Category 3: Fae
  • Fever series by Karen Marie Moning
  • Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr
  • Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa

Category 4: Shifters/Werewolves
  • Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews
  • Shifters series by Rachel Vincent
  • Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
  • Immortals after dark series by Kresley Cole
  • Cassie Palmer series by Karen Chance

So in the end I’ll be reading a lot more then just three for category.

2012 Sensational Seconds Challenge

I’ve found great series this year and discovered that most of them will have a second book coming up, so for this challenge I’ll be reading the second books from series that will be released 2012.
The Books:
  • This challenge is specifically focused on YA and MG “seconds” being published between Jan 1 – Dec 31, 2012. This includes sequels (the second book in a series only) and companion novels!(If you want a “bonus” challenge that pairs well with this, be sure to check out Shanyn @ Chick Loves Lit’s Sophomore Reading Challenge!)
  • I’ve started a Goodreads list HERE that can help you keep up with some of the upcoming sequels/companions (there are 95 books on the list so far!).  Be aware that this list is not necessarily comprehensive, although I’ve been trying my best to keep it updated.
    • This list is just the US sequels being released in 2012.  I’ll openly admit that I don’t keep up with foreign releases.  If you live in another country, feel free to post reviews for newly released sequels in your country!
  • The books must be read between January 1 and December 21, 2012 to count towards the challenge.  I know some people have been lucky enough to read some sequels prior to 2012, but those won’t be counted towards this challenge.

The Challenge:

  • The goal of the SSC will be to read sequels/companion novels! *duh* There are four different levels that you can choose to participate at:
    • Level 1 (Beginner): 1-4 books
    • Level 2 (Intermediate): 5-8 books
    • Level 3 (Advanced): 8-12 books
    • Level 4 (Crazy): 13+ books
  • Anyone can join! You don’t have to be a blogger specifically, but you do need to review the sequels that you read somewhere (such as Goodreads, LibraryThing, Shelfari, etc.) in English
  • There will occasionally be giveaways! (Still TBD…but they’ll be for participants only)
  • You can join anytime! Just set your goal and get started!
I’ll be trying level 3, and here is my book list so far:
  • Insurgent by Veronica Roth
  • Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
  • Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
  • Fever by Lauren DeStefano
  • The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead
  • Until I Die by Amy Plum
  • Dreamless by Josephine Angelini
  • Goddess Interruped by Aimee Carter
  • Underworld by Meg Cabot
  • Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The 50 states Reading challenge!

I loved the idea for this challenge, althought I think this one I’ll be a failure since most of the books that I’ll be reading I have no idea where the story is setting. So the end will be a surprise. Here are the rules.

The goal of this challenge is to read books that are set in each of the fifty states. Your books can be of any genre and any format (ie. paperback, ebook, audiobook, etc.). No short stories. Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are fine. (Re-read reviews must be written within the year 2012; you can not use old reviews.)

You can list your books in advance or list them as you read them. The idea of this challenge came from a Goodreads group.

**Anyone can join. You don’t need a blog to participate.
**Non-Bloggers: Sign up in the comments section. Post your reviews with other book sites (ie. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, Shelfari, etc.) and post the link in the comments section of the 50 States Reading Challenge. (will post January 1).
