Review: Rapture in Death by JD Robb

Rapture in Death (In Death, #4)Title: Rapture in death
Author:  JD Robb
Series: In Death
Publisher:  Brilliance Audio
Format: audiobook
ISBN: 1423301854
Genre: Mystery
Release date: September 2006

The book started with Eve and Roarke honeymoon and I thought things would be okay for a chapter at least, but I was wrong and Eve had to deal with a dead body off planet. It wasn’t a homicide, but after a short while another suicide showed up with a very strange pattern in the brain and Eve decided to investigate because it was looking more like a homicide than ever.

I liked the fact Eve was more sure of herself and her relationship with Roarke. It’s getting easier for her to accept her feelings and how much she needs him. I liked to see this different side of her with lots of emotions and being more human.

The case was a nightmare for Eve because nobody believed her theory about the murders and she had to create a case against a Roarke product again, because he owns the world it seams.

It was a great book and I liked Eve following her instincts again.

Review: By a Thread by Jennifer Estep

By a Thread (Elemental Assassin, #6)

When killing people is your job, there’s no such thing as a vacation. Then again, how often does an assassin live long enough to enjoy her retirement? In this line of work, you either get lucky or you get dead. And since I destroyed my nemesis Mab Monroe a few weeks ago, all of Ashland’s lowlifes are gunning to make a name for themselves by taking out the lethal Spider—me, Gin Blanco. So I’m leaving behind my beloved barbecue joint and heading south with my baby sister, Bria, to cool my heels in a swanky beach town. Call it a weekend of fun in the sun. But when a powerful vampire with deadly elemental magic threatens an old friend of Bria’s, it looks like I’ll have to dig my silverstone knives out of my suitcase after all. Complicating matters further is the reappearance of Detective Donovan Caine, my old lover. But Donovan is the least of my problems. Because this time, the danger is hot on my trail, and not even my elemental Ice and Stone magic may be enough to save me from getting buried in the sand—permanently.

This series was a great surprise and I was following Gin revenge against Mab, but the reason that actually made me jump ahead to this book was the fact that Mab is gone now and I wanted to know how different Gin life would be after Ashland discovered she is actually the Spider.

I’m not surprised but there were several attempts of killing her, making it seems like Jonah McAllister is really after finishing her, but I liked the fact that she wasn’t happy about it and it didn’t change her life.

Her relationship with Owen is still very strong after they admitted their feelings and now the only real problem she has is how to connect with Bria. Finn being really nice and all decided a vacation was in order and I liked to see Gin in a different place and having fun once in her life with family and friends.

Not surprising danger found its way to Gin and she became involved with another Gig. Collie was Bria best friend since childhood, so when Gin discovered a big and bad vampire was trying to kill her and buy her restaurant, she jumped to help.

Several things made me really this book would not be perfect. At first Gin didn’t make a plan to actually kill the vampire and there were rumors about his abilities and the fact he had elemental in his side, but Gin never really discovered before the job. She decided to give him a chance to back off, but was surprised by the fact he knew who she was and Jonah was actually his buddy, so things didn’t turn up very good.

I’ve never see Gin so careless, but I blame Donovan Caine, can you imagine his back? I was never much of his fan, but this book made me really hate and of course love even more Owen.

I liked the action, but it wasn’t Gin style. Fun book and I had a feelings things would be bad before they turned good. Bria finally accepted Gin jobs and her reasons, so in the end it was all worth it.

This book was so much fun with a little twist of spicy on it. I liked how Heather decided to create a different person, but in true form she only improved and finally said what she wanted in sex. You can’t always leave to a guy and she picked the right guy, because Tony is not afraid to experiment and enjoyed quite a few of her ideas.

So this relationship started with a speedy dating and evolved really fast, but we can see these two are actually perfect together and Tony is so used to woman wanting him for sex and money, that this time was different and made things so much interesting for him.

I didn’t like neither one of those friends, because they are not supportive and I discovered that both are only jealous. So let’s see who will lead the next book?

Betraying the Pack by Eve Langlais

Betraying the Pack (Pack, #2)

Pack law states she can have up to four mates, if she can find the courage to choose them.
Escaping a kidnapping duo, Bailey runs into a naked man in the middle of the woods. And he’s not alone.
Rescued by a quad of hunks, then kept against her will, she doesn’t know what to think or do—other than scream that is—when she discovers they are werewolves. Even more frightening, they want her as their mate despite her human status.
But there’s more to Bailey than meets the eye, and she comes to the attention of an evil force that wants to use her. Can Bailey keep herself from his clutches, or will he somehow force her to betray the pack?
And just how does a girl raised with human morals come around to accepting pack law which states females can choose up to four mates, and more shocking, take them to her bed, all at once?
Warning: Not all gorgeous blond cowboys with dark-haired sidekicks met in a bar will be werewolves, but if they are, prepare to howl, because when it comes to loving their mate, nothing beats their hands-on tag team approach.
Note: All the sexual focus is on her. There is no male on male action.

I liked Bailey and totally get her problem but she suffered so much in this book that she deserves a happy ending better than anyone. Now we know how the bad guy is and what he wants, but it’s never easy to locate and stop him.

So this book was different, because I thought Bailey was a werewolf but it was difficult to really see that happening, but the bad guy, and I’m not saying names, really wanted her. For some strange reason that she’s part of his plan.

I liked this family, but was a bit confusing at first with so many guys with different personalities. It took me some time to actually put together everyone and their relationship with Bailey.

She’s a strong girl who suffered a lot in this life and actually earned her chance to be with Gavin in the first place, but the others just came along for the ride afterward. I liked how she spent time with each guy and got to know everyone. Choosing the perfect moment to bond and make a life together.

I’m stuck with the end and I believe it’s not the end yet.
