Week in Review #1

Beautiful-AirPlane-Picture

So this week was actually full of giveaways, but I’m not really reading as much as I should so a few reviews were up late and I need to work on the schedule, but now I have more time and space for the reviews and to start more giveaways.

Don’t get me wrong, I still think Book Travels is my baby, but I read so many different type of books that things were starting to get messy and out of control for me. There was way to many posts on the same week and never a dull moment, but I was losing control of my reviews and what to show.

There’s a different public to young adult and a completely opposite to erotica and I discovered this year to I love erotica and started reading more about it, so I think the blog needed a vision and there’s now a plan for the week.

Mondays: Paranormal Romance on Book Travels in the Dark
Tuesday: Top Off Tuesday on Book Travels (Harlequins need love too)
Wednesday: Romance on Book Travels
Thursday: Mystery or Urban Fantasy on Book Travels in the Dark
Friday: Young Adult on Book Travels
Saturday: Stacking the Shelves on both
Sunday: Week in Review

I guess you can see that a few days will be empty on both blogs, but I can show guest post, interviews, or blog tours in those.

Sounds fun, right? So this week I had fun with only a few books. Smiley triste

Young Adult Review: Bitter Blood by Rachel Caine

Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires, #13)

For years, the human and vampire residents of Morganville, Texas, have managed to co-exist in peace. But now that the threat to the vampires has been defeated, the human residents are learning that the gravest danger they face is the enemy within…
Thanks to the eradication of the parasitic creatures known as the draug, the vampires of Morganville have been freed of their usual constraints. With the vampires indulging their every whim, the town’s human population is determined to hold on to their lives by taking up arms. But college student Claire Danvers isn’t about to take sides, considering she has ties to both the humans and the vampires.
To make matters worse, a television show comes to Morganville looking for ghosts, just as vampire and human politics collide. Now, Claire and her friends have to figure out how to keep the peace without ending up on the nightly news… or worse.

Lots of adventures in Morganville and now things are getting creepy for the humans, because the vampires got the control again and the hunting season has begun. I like the twists and the changes that happen in this tiny Texas town, but the best part was how Claire is always trying to find a reason for things to happen and a way to keep the peace.

One thing that I’m currently loving in this series is the changing on the POV, a few points in this book were a bit boring, mostly Amelie, but I loved seeing more of Shane and Michael, because things were really dangerous for the new married couple.

In this town there’s never a dull moment but I thought it was really strange the way Amelie just bowed in this time and let all the decisions in the wrong hands. We could see during the series how strong she is and how much dangerous she could become if her control was taken, but to see her doing some things was a bit on the extreme side for me.

I liked seeing the reaction of the town for the first human-vampire weeding and was kinda expecting problem, but not so much as a mob beating people, so wrong. But I liked how much Shane is starting to take responsibilities and he’s really cute with Claire, but things took a wrong turn during a few chapters, but I still have faith these two will end together.

I liked more the relationship parts of this book than the real problem, because it feel like things only happened on the last few chapters and I like seeing Claire trying to solve a puzzle and needing help more than this crazy diabolical twist.

3rd Annual Hoppy Easter Eggstravaganza Giveaway Hop

Hoppy Easter Eggstravaganza Giveaway Hop

March 29th to April 5th

Hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer & Read Now Sleep Later

Another Hop and this one I chose for a very specific reason. I love bunnies and find them adorable, but Easter is such a great time. The weather is cool and there’s thousand of outdoor activities to be done with the family in this time of the year. It’s always a blast.

But let’s hop to the prize right? I chose two books to give away on this hop, for the same winner and both on epub format, because everyone can have a chance to win.

Alice in Zombieland (The White Rabbit Chronicles, #1)

First prize is an Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles #1) by Gena Showalter, first because I love the original story and my dog is named Alice after the book (awesome, right?) and second because there’s a rabbit on it so I think it match’s the theme.

With All My Soul (Soul Screamers, #7)

And the second prize is just for everyone to fall in love with this series as much as I do. This is the last one and if you follow Kaylee adventures now is your chance to win and stop waiting for your copy.

May the luckiest win!!

New vision!

A few weeks ago I discovered my blog was a mess and decided to change a few things, so now I have an announcement to make. There’s a new and dark side to Book Travels where all those 18+ books will be reviewed.

Only books with the genres like Erotica and Paranormal Romance will be reviewed there and now I’m really into Urban Fantasy so you can find all my reviews on the new website.

But if you’re a fan of Romance and Young Adult, you’re in the right place and stick around for a few tours and giveaways heading right here. I started listening to audiobooks for the In Death series and now I love Mystery. To make things balanced there’s three genres for each blog and you’ll be able to find the reviews scheduled on the Calendar page.

Romance Review: Can’t Help Falling in Love by Bella Andre

Can't Help Falling In Love (The Sullivans, #3)

Gabe Sullivan risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire…and can’t stop thinking about.
Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving – and losing – a man with a dangerous job again.
Only, when Gabe and Megan meet again and uncontrollable flames of desire ignite between them, how can he possibly ignore her courage, determination, and beauty? And how can she deny not only his strong bond with her daughter.but the way his sweetly sensual kisses are challenging her to risk everything she’s been guarding for so long?
This winter, if one – or both – of them aren’t careful, they just might end up falling in love.

Gabe Sullivan is a really catch. Gorgeous and a firefighter. This family does make awesome guys and they are successful and romantic. But Gabe is even better because he also likes kids and puppies. Heaven help me, but I think Megan is not the only one falling in love with him. LOL.

Megan lost her husband to an accident where he played with an airplane, but now she’s afraid to fall in love with guys that only think about dangerous things and Gabe is a firefighter and saved her when her building was on fire, but the worst part is how much her daughter has fallen for him.

It’s really difficult to start a relationship when you have to think about a third person, but Gabe was so nice and a perfect gentleman the hole time, that is practically impossible to find a reason not to say yes. Megan tried really hard to to keep away but in the end it was so easy to just jump and let him catch her.

I’m in love with this family!
