Conducting a top secret investigation into the death of a fellow police officer has Lieutenant Eve Dallas treading on dangerous ground. She must put professional ethics before personal loyalties. But when a dead body is placed outside her home, Eve takes the warning personally. With her husband, Roarke, watching her every move, Eve is drawn into the most dangerous case of her career. Difficult case for Eve because she had to investigate a fellow cop and ended up in the middle of a crazy cult of the devil. This book was more dark than the previous because I didn’t predicted Roarke as a believer and Eve discovered there are more dangerous people in the world than just the regular murders.

The case was different and became more personal after a body was dumped in Eve and Roarke house. But I liked the twist and how Eve had to overcome a few problems along the way to actually discover the responsible, plus Peabody is now a regular aide and we got to see a little of her past.

Another great audiobook and I’m trilled with this series.
