Romance Review: A Fool’s Gold Christmas by Susan Mallery

A Fool's Gold Christmas (Fool's Gold #9.5)

The unrelenting cheer in Fool’s Gold, California, is bringing out the humbug in dancer Evie Stryker. She learned early on that Christmas miracles don’t happen, at least not for her. And this year seems like no exception. An injury has forced her to return to the family fold, no matter that they’re estranged. She won’t add to the awkward scenario by being seduced by the bad-boy charms of her brother’s best friend, the last man she should ever want to date. Even when she’s recruited to stage the Fool’s Gold winter festival, she vows to do as promised, then move forward with her life anywhere but here.Jaded lawyer Dante Jefferson is getting used to the backwater town he now reluctantly calls home, but the pounding of little dancers’ feet above his temporary office is more than any man should have to take! When he confronts their gorgeous teacher, he’s unprepared for the attraction that sears him down to the soul. Evie is his best friend’s sister—off-limits unless he’s willing to risk his heart. Dante has always believed that love is the most dangerous force in the universe, but that was before he had to reckon with the magic of a certain small town, where miracles do seem to happen….

I think the mother-daughter relationship in this book was a little strange and I still don’t understand why people keep finding reasons to explain the way Evie was left behind. her family was busy with something else and nobody thought about her at all and now everyone is thinking she just need to accept them all and live with it. It’s not that simple and they need to learn things do not fall in their lap, because everyone was very successful and Evie was struggling.

I liked the way her relationship with Dante was more friendship and them evolved into sex, because she was in a different town and needed a friend. Her family was her problem so she couldn’t go to them, but Dante was a nice guy and totally listened to her. I liked him and the way he changed his life. Rafe brought him to Fool’s Gold and expected him to just say okay, but it’s a different town and he doesn’t know a soul, so it’s difficult, but he’s a nice guy.

I also loved Christmas in Fool’s Gold, it was very especial and it’s super nice seeing all those couples again.

Three Determined Mercenaries
Dominic Anthony has waited years to avenge his sister’s murder. He knows Greg Jansen is dirty, but he needs a witness to help prove his case. Jansen’s new bride is the perfect hostage. And Law suspects she might be the one woman who can handle them all.
From Target to Treasure
In the wilds of Alaska, the three men try to pry Kinley open, only to discover she’s both stronger and more innocent than they imagined. Her sweet beauty melts their suspicion and steals their hearts. Together, they awaken her passion and brand her as their own. Advice:

Due to its strong sexual content, this novel is recommended for readers older than 18.

This was a bit different from the other books for me I think. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good book, but she was kidnapped and decided she was in love with those guys. A bit strange since she only knew one of them. It would be different if they had met before, but I didn’t like this part. The sex scenes were great and I liked more of Dominic. He’s the more normal and it’s afraid of the future.

They didn’t shared a normal weekend and this is a extremely difficult situation, but I liked Kinley. She’s a nice girl and totally deserved three hot guys dedicated to her. Her family treated her way to bad and they so need to pay. Kinley never did anything more but is stuck in this strange place because she simply can’t say no to people. Because come on we can all see she has been used and she does nothing about it.

Anyway. I would buy this one for the sexual scenes alone, the story lacked more drama. It was a little to easy for them to kidnaped her and the end was not satisfactory for me.
