Review: Vision in White by Nora Roberts

Vision In White

#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts cordially invites you to meet childhood friends Parker, Emma, Laurel, and Mac—the founders of Vows, one of Connecticut’s premier wedding planning companies.

With bridal magazine covers to her credit, Mackensie “Mac” Elliot is most at home behind the camera—ready to capture the happy moments she never experienced while growing up. Her father replaced his first family with a second, and now her mother, moving on to yet another man, begs Mac for attention and money. Mac’s foundation is jostled again moments before an important planning meeting when she bumps into the bride-to-be’s brother…an encounter that has them both seeing stars.

Carter Maguire is definitely not her type: he’s stable, and he’s safe. He’s even an English teacher at their high school alma mater. There’s something about him that makes Mac think a casual fling is just what she needs to take her mind off dealing with bridezillas and screening her mother’s phone calls. But a casual fling can turn into something more when you least expect it. And with the help of her three best friends—and business partners—Mac must learn how to make her own happy memories…

Could a book be consireded more romantic than one featuring a wedding photographer and how she discovered love and a helthy relationship? Because I think this book is the ultimate love affair and these two characther deserved every moment of love they found.

I loved Mac and her friends! It’s refreshining to see these four friends open a business together and still live next to each other, they are more like a family and they take care of each other too. It’s sweet and very funny watch them create the magic of a perfect wedding reception.

Mac has serrious problems with her family, especially her mother and the way she abused her trust over the years, so it’s easy to say that’s the reason she’s scared of a relationship and Carter made her swoon so badly that all she could do was run away.

I kinda fell in love with Carter because he’s pretty damn perfect. A doctor and a teacher, he’s more happy making other people fell in love with the characthers and he actually is a good teacher, as proven during the book. And he has a cat, with only three legs, because he saved him after a hit and run. Could he be more perfect?

I liked these two together. It was really fun to see Carter without words and Mac trying really hard not to overthink things and just let it roll.

"Cordina’s Crown Jewel, " part of the Cordina’s Royal Family miniseries, marks Roberts’s 100th title with Harlequin and Silhouette. This brand-new story features Princess Camilla de Cordina, who runs away, assumes a new identity, and begins working for archaeologist Delaney Caine. But as her irritation towards Delaney grows into desire, she knows she’ll soon have to reveal her true identity.

This is the final book in the series and it was a written many years after the original forth as a special edition, but I find it totally unnecessary because the original princes of Cordina are all married and the evil man is gone for good.

But I read this book as a regular romance, without pushing for the Cordina family and they barely made appearance. Camilla is young and has worked her entire life as a princess and now she’s twenty five without a clue of her future.

I liked the relationship with Delaney, because he’s like a bear and only complains but he’s actually brilliant and helped Camilla realize life can be all about research and discoveries.

For the romance alone the book was fine, not all that exciting, but she’s a princess and the her life is really boring without the glamour, and it’s all about work and work. Fun!

LADY OF MYSTERY

Prince Bennett of Cordina had been making gossip headlines since his teens – but the prim and proper Lady Hannah Rothchild wasn’t his usual choice in women. Something in her eyes intrigued him, and he was determined to discover what she was trying to hide.

Hannah knew that Bennett could easily jeopardize her safety, so from the moment they met she was on her guard. Yet despite all her attempts to avoid him, she was falling under his spell, making them both more vulnerable to the dangers that surrounded them. She’d lost her heart to a man she was forced to deceive – but then, love knows no right or wrong.

PhotobucketThird book was not perfect but I enjoyed after Hannah started struggling with her character. I liked Bennett since the first book and already had an imagine of his perfect match, but Hannah was a surprise and her lies made their relationship start in a rocky bottom.

So Hannah is lying and pretending to be the good girl and very boring, but Bennett is used to deal with horses and he could see right through her lies and it made the attraction really strong for these two, but since it’s her job, she just can’t forget and needs to keep him save without him knowing about it.

So the action was the break point for me to actually enjoy the book. We can see how all the older couples are still together and also the big villain is finally free from prison and it’s back to destry the family.

It was good in the end, but the romance was not the best of the series.

In Eve Hamilton’s youth, His Royal Highness Alexander de Cordina had played the part of a fairy-tale prince, but seven years ago Eve had learned that its villains were undeniably real. She had also learned to put her childhood dreams behind her.

It was Alexander’s request that brought Eve, along with her theatrical troupe, back to Cordina. She still took his breath away with her flawless beauty, and just the sight of her natural sensuality made him ache. It soon became evident that the dangers would never remain in the past – but neither would the desires.

It’s interesting seeing Eve again and in a strange relationship with Alexander when we all thought she would end up with the playboy. She was very important on the end of Affaire Royale, by helping save Brie and getting the family attention.

She was just a teenager than and now ten years after her first visit to the palace, she’s back and very successful business women as a request of the Alexander to help children, impressive right?

That young girl who just wanted to be an actress became a very good producer and now owns a world renowned group of artists that will perform on Cordina to help raise money for kids treatment on hospitals, but the bogey man is back and terrorizing the royal family once again, the interesting thing is that his still in jail.

I liked how the romance was handled during the book, because knowing Alexander from the previous book and how serious he is, Eve is actually the perfect girl for him, because she is fun and was raise to be a lady. I actually liked this two together and the series is in a good path.

Every inch a princess, Gabriella had been found crumpled and unconscious on the side of the road. Now she was supposedly safe, with her royal family she didn’t remember…and a darkly handsome detective she’d never forget.

Reeve MacGee had given her memories to treasure, but would he proved her with a brokenhearted future?

Photobucket

First book in this series, but I didn’t like this cover!! I liked the plot about a princess with amnesia and a sexy bodyguard helping her keep save and very happy. Reeve had he’s troubles with Cordina way of royalty but loved Gabriella for so long, that an attempt to kill her was all it took for him to jump and help.

I liked this book, because we could met and love Brie without all the pretense of royalty. She wanted to rediscover herself and work to remember how kidnapped her in the first place.

She’s really sweet, but with a lot of obligations and good head to help people. Reeve was just a guy trying to re-start in life, for years he worked on security and was once a cop, but now he wants to be a farmer and watch life pass very calmly.

The romance and action were really good, because we could follow as Brie was discovering things and she’s really smart despise having been protected since child. The family was trying to hide some bad things, but Brie fought hard to know the truth.

Brooding loner Preston McQuinn’s new apartment, like his life, was just the way he wanted it — dark and empty. But when sunny Cybil Campbell came barging into his well-ordered gloom, he couldn’t deny a grudging fascination with his bright, bubbly neighbor. And then she tried to hire him — as her date! Preston thought he’d closed the door on love for good, so why was he suddenly longing to open up his heart to his incredibly perfect neighbor?

My Thoughts:

Last book about the MacGregors and if you’ve read the others in this series you can clearly see these two were made for each other. Cybil parents are both driven for the same passion, arts and we can see that his kids live for the same thing. Cybil works for a newspaper making comic squares. She’s this happy thing that makes friends with everyone and lives like a bubbly person.

Now you put Preston in the apartment right in front of her, he’s trying to write a play and is a loner, but Daniel MacGregor rented the apartment for a reason and romance is bound to happen.

I liked Cybil and she’s a great girl, living and making life enjoyable for her friends. She love’s her friends and make sure they know it, but things are difficult for Preston because he’s a guy hiding. Not that he’s done anything wrong, but a girl used him and hurt his heart really bad.

This was a okay book and is not the best in the series but we got to see a little more from the family and Daniel working his magic.

It worked with his granddaughters. Now Daniel MacGregor, powerful patriarch of the MacGregor clan, wants to see his three handsome, eligible—but stubbornly single—grandsons married. So he’s found just the women to tempt, tease and torture D.C., Duncan and Ian all the way to the altar. And you can bet Daniel will be sitting by with his feet up, a glass of whiskey in hand, smugly watching his plans unfold . . .

My Thoughts:

The book share three stories, just like The MacGregor Brides. Three grandsons from Daniel, one from each of his sons and daughter. As usual he tells the stories and also get emotional as each boy finds their happily ever after, because these MacGregors live forever. Daniel is ninety years old and still meddling.

Part One

We start we D.C., Alan and Shelby son. He’s an artist as everyone in his family. For him Daniel chose Layna Drake, goddaughter of Myra, we saw her in several books. Moving along we got to see that DC likes to have no rules and work at all hours, so a women for him is pretty much open minded. He’s house is a mess but he doesn’t care, after growing up living in the White House, he likes to live day by day.

Layna is set in her work plans and doesn’t want a relationship at this time of life, but her Godmother set her on a blind date with an boy from her childhood. He’s gorgeous, independent and smart. Difficult not to fall in love with him.

I liked this couple and they have chemistry but at first I wasn’t convinced they would be good together as more than sex. DC is not the most romantic guy, but his smooth and a charmer. Layna just needed to open her eyes and realize that life is more than work.

Part Two

Is about Duncan finding love. He’s Mac brother and as run in the family likes to bet. He owns and run a casino ship through the Mississippi, so Daniel send his way Cat, a pretty singer and the sexy goddess.

They were great together, plus the sex scenes were extra hot. She is more concerned about her career and he decided to help because she’s a really great singer and has suffered a lot growing up in a bad neighborhood.

I liked this couple but for me they have nothing special besides the chemistry.

Part Three

The best story so far is this one. Ian is a lawyer like his parents and meet Naomi, responsible for a bookstore that he used to go since kids. I liked how Ian acted, at first he thought Naomi was shy but after realizing that she is actually virgin and he’s the first to make her experience these emotions.

Ian was very sweet the whole time and even tried to give her time to see other people before their marriage, since she never had a relationship before. He’s very thoughtful. She loves and is a bit insecure, but I loved this couple.
