Bout of Books 9.0

Bout of Books

Another Bout of Books and I almost missed this time. As always the girls did one amazing job and if you’re going to read this week join it here. From the leading time I give you the final words:

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

I’m not good in picking ahead of time but I’ve made a reading pile for this month and the books will be chosen from there. Updates in this post everytime I finish another book.

Goal: 7
8/7

Books read:

Memory in Death (In Death, #22) Haunted in Death (In Death, #22.5) Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6) Father Mine: Zsadist and Bella's Story (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6.5) A December Bride (A Year of Weddings, #1) A January Bride (A Year of Weddings, #2) A February Bride (A Year of Weddings) A March Bride (A Year of Weddings)

Monday: I’ve finished hour 10 of Memory in Death. Not my favorite mystery so far, but liking Eve’s changes.

Tuesday: Finished the audiobook during lunch prepping and decided to continue with the series. Another audio for today, but this time only a novella, so only 3 hour long.

Wednesday: Started Lover Enshrined for the read along, read around 400 pages. It’s a huge book!

Thursday: Finished Lover Enshrined, the last hundred pages or so. Read the novella, Father Mine, cute but too short for my taste, wanted more of Zsadist and Nalla. Also read A December Bride, a novella from NetGalley, super cute.

Friday: Started and finished two novellas. A January Bride and A February Bride. Super cute and clean romances.

Saturday: Didn’t read. At all.

Sunday: Finished a novella and started another book, will read around 100 pages.

This year didn’t start very good for my schedule and my internet is still with problems so I don’t know how much I’ll be able to update and I only managed to think about the books today.

So without much delay. I pledge to read at least 5 books and over 1000 pages. Less than my last Bout of Books, but I don’t know how much time I’ll have. Finished the 1000 pages and decided to add more 500.

Monday:

I decided to start a romance series yesterday and I’m loving these Sheikh’s. Time passes way to fast but these books are sweet and very easy. So I managed to start and finish the third book in this series. Everybody speaks greatly about Susan Mallery contemporary romance series, but this one is just as good and a little old.

The Sheik's Secret Bride (Desert Rogues, #3) (Silhouette Special Edition, #1331)

#boutofbooks Wrap Up

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon
Last week was all about reading and I had a great time just finishing one book after another. Since real life is a bit insane at the moment I tried not to pledge a lot, so no reviewing this time and I barely had time for twitter a few days, but I tried really hard to read the 2000 pages.
Since I’m a failure at following a list, this time I decided to follow the wind so to speak and read whatever I wanted without worrying about plans and lists. I also only updated on twitter and goodreads. There was a bottom on my blog, but was a bit wrong half the time.
I had fun as always in just reading and traveling in the stories. There was a lot of erotica, and of course YA because Onyx was released last week and there was no way I wouldn’t read that, if you didn’t until now I will only say one thing: Amazing!!!

Books Finished:

Club Shadowlands (Masters of the Shadowlands, #1)Wolf Line (Granite Lake Wolves, #5)Because I Could Not Resist (Because You Are Mine, #2)Strong, Silent Type (Rough Riders #6.5)Branded as Trouble (Rough Riders #6)Shoulda Been a Cowboy (Rough Riders #7)Fearless (Elemental, #1.5)All Jacked Up (Rough Riders #8)Onyx (Lux, #2)Tempting The Manny
Plus 92 pages from other books that I didn’t have time to finish.

Total Pages Reads:

1960 pages in seven days and I almost touched the 2000 I have pledged. But it’s all good. And some books were totally worth it. Now I only have to wait for the next Bout of Books.

Bout of Books 5.0

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

Lately I’ve been in several read-a-thons but it’s so fun to join and see how people are spending their week reading. Since I’m usually reading around four books every week it’s no big deal for me to sign up and try to read more for one week.
The Bout of Books is sort like a ritual since I participated in all of them, usually my goals are way to high and RL gets in the middle of things so the results are not the best, but for the next week I’ll try something that worked now.
I pledge to read 2000 pages, instead of setting a goal for books since I never keep, usually change the book and things just don’t work. But 2000 sounds like manageable, maybe I can even upgrade if I get there soon enough.
You can find more informations about my readings on twitter, I’ll update everyday with the hashtag #boutofbooks, or follow me on goodreads since my feed will tell you about the books I’m reading and the word count. More information about the read-a-thon is here.
