TOP 10 Goals/Resolutions For 2014

My principal goal for this year is finish those books from my TBR, so this week I’m doing a little different and listing those series that are on my goal. Some only have a few books left and others have a big pile.

PicMonkey Collage

1. Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost – I still need to read 4 novels and one novella, but will finish this one in January. Loving this Urban Fantasy series and will check her other works.

PicMonkey Collage2

2. Black Dagger Brotherhood Series from JR Ward – I only have three books to finish, but decided to join a read along last year and remember the stories better. Currently on book six, but I’m loving seeing the brothers falling in love again. Will finish this one on April after the release of The King.

3. Six Pack Ranch Series by Vivian Arend – She became a favorite author of mine, her series are always on my lookout and her werewolves are perfect and sassy, but for some reason I neglected to read the last two books on her cowboys series, must do that ASAP this year. Will try this one in March.

PicMonkey Collage4

4. Parable, Montana Series by Linda Lael Miller – Just in December the last book was released and I had no idea this series was coming to an end. I have all those from NetGalley so is going to be a good month for those oldies books. Another cowboy series and this one is more romantic.

PicMonkey Collage5

5. The Sullivans Series by Bella Andre – This one I’m barely behind, but since I was late and only started last year, it’s going to be easy to catch up. Only need to read two books and the next one to be released in Spring. Happy thought.

6. Play by Play by Jaci Burton – This series has fabulous covers and I loved the first books, but for some reason the new releases are always on the TBR but postponed. Need to find some time and finish this one before it get’s any bigger.

PicMonkey Collage7

7. Elemental by Brigid Kemmerer – This is one of those YA series that I liked, but never got in the mood to follow-up. The covers are cute and simple, but those boys sure have some powers.

PicMonkey Collage8

8. Everneath by Brodi Ashton – The covers are amazing and I loved the first book. And I’m time Cole. He’s the bad boy but sure knows how to play the good guy sometimes.

PicMonkey Collage9

9. Bloodlines by Richelle Mead – Another series that is waiting for my YA mood. Loved Vampire Academy and Rose mostly, but was a little disappointed to let them go, so this spin-off was not that great, but I shall give it a second chance this year.

10. Brides of the Kindred by Evangeline Anderson – This is a huge series and I loved the first books. The story is super different and there are aliens and twins, super erotica for sure. This is not for weak people and you have to be open-minded before start this, somethings don’t make much sense and others are super fun, but the books are a little big.

TOP 10 Books I Read In 2013

I had a hard time picking only ten but decided to chose one from each of those series I loved this year. Romances made the top four, but I also had lots of heroines fighting for the next positions.

When Summer Comes (Whiskey Creek, #3) The Divorce Party I Only Have Eyes For You (The Sullivans, #4) Only Yours (Fool's Gold, #5)

1. When Summer Comes by Brenda Novak – This author makes me cry with every book. I’m not usually like that, but those stories really touch my heart. They are super sad and the characthers need to overcome some sad things. Each book has a difficult plot, but this one was the saddest to me, because Callie had cancer and it was almost taking her.

2. The Divorce Party by Jennifer Hayward – This book was a nice surprise. The author is making a great debut and the story was full of reconnection. I love a book with a second chance story. Lilly and Ricardo needed a different view from their story and try to make things right.

3. I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre – Another series that I started late. Everyone loved the Sullivans so I decided to read them this year. Sophie book was my favorite so far and her story was exactly like those I love, friends became lovers. Jake fought really hard but we can all see the love.

4. Only Yours by Susan Mallery – I loved Montana story. She had a difficult time choosing what to do with her life, but after she finally understood her mission things began changing and was happy again, but there’s one thing missing in her life. Simon was a very cold guy, but I liked the way he and Montana created a beautiful relationship.

Spider’s Revenge (Elemental Assassin, #5) Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) Magic Rises (Kate Daniels, #6)

5. Spider’s Revenge by Jennifer Estep – This was the best book for me in the series. Gin put her plan in place and managed to finish Mab Monroe. I loved the family touch and those moments shared with persons that mattered to her. We can see that in this moment Gin needed her friends and family by her side, to face the biggest nightmare of her life.

6. Destined for An Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost – This was a troubling book for Cat, but I liked the way her relationship was tested and it became clear the love between Bones and the Red Reaper. This series is coming real close to an end and those side characters made me love this plot even more.

7. Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews – This was a difficult book for me. We have those favorites and some bad things happen, but I suffered so much with the finale. This series became one of my favorites this year and the last released book took my heart. Can’t wait to see what Curran and Kate are going to do to save Atlanta again.

Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) Shadowed (Dark Protectors, #6) The Mistress (The Original Sinners, #4)

8. Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione – This was such a different story and I loved meeting Eidolon and Tayla. They are complete opposite, but we can see the attraction and those sparks flying between these two. Since this is the first book, there are lots of introductions and we can see a great potential for this series.

9. Shadowed by Rebecca Zanetti – I fell in love with Rebecca Zanetti this year and her vampires are a favorite of mine. Those Kayrs brothers are to die for. They are strong, very powerful and full of those alpha instincts. Loved this series and can’t wait for the next books.

10. The Mistress by Tiffany Reisz – I had the great idea to read this series after ravishing reviews and now it’s only waiting until the next book. This year I snapped early the my copy and was so happy with the end of this era. This became one of those favorite erotica of mine and is going to be a re-read real soon.

TOP 10 BOOKS I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Bringing Me

For this week theme I had to hunt those books releasing next year that I wouldn’t mind getting earlier. It’s something almost impossible so I decided to cheat a little.

Killer Frost (Mythos Academy, #6) Poison Promise (Elemental Assassin, #11) Wild Things (Chicagoland Vampires, #9) Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels, #7)

1. Killer Frost by Jennifer Estep – Gwen is one of my favorite girls in the YA world. Plus her stories are filled with adventures and drama. I’m super sad to say goodbye, but this series is coming to an end and Killer Frost is the last book.

2. Poison Promise by Jennifer Estep – Another series from the goddess Jennifer Estep and this one has a Gin killing people. Ok, she’s retired, but really bodies keep building and she’s always helping those in need of protection. This series deserves an spin-off with Finn.

3. Wild Things by Chloe Neill – A new Merit adventure. This time is those shifters breaking havoc in the city and since they are friends, Merit will help them out.

4. Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews – I discovered this series only this year, but already became a favorite and I can’t wait for more Curran and Kate fighting the world to stay save. And t’s looking a lot like Roland is on the way.

The One (The Selection, #3) Come Home to Me (Whiskey Creek, #6) The King (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #12)

5. The One by Kiera Cass – Least book in this trilogy that caught my eye first because of the covers, but I liked the story too and it became a different YA to follow. I love those reality shows and this book is the end to a bachelor reality

6. Come Home to Me by Brenda Novak – This series is perfect for crying ladies. The stories are full of drama and horrible moments, but things can always change. We’ve been following Presley story for a few books now and it’s finally time to discover her HEA.

7. The King by JR Ward – This series has some kick ass alpha males, but the best part for me is the relationships between the brothers. The stories are always full of friendship and bonding moments. This is the second Wrath book and it looks like there’s drama in the vampire world.

Books Without Cover

8. When We Met by Susan Mallery – Fool’s Gold is the perfect series to fall in love. The city is full of romances and there’s more men moving in, so more couples are being created too. This is Taryn book and her chance of falling in love.

9. The Saint by Tiffany Reisz – If you like Erotica, this series is perfection. Soren is completely different from you would expect and this time we have things set in those early years, when Nora and Soren first discovered their attraction.

10. Chained by Night by Larissa Ione – I liked the first book and Larissa Ione is really great in creating these worlds. Can’t wait to see if the second is better.

TOP 10 BOOKS New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2013

I had a hard time chosing ten authors, because this year I mostly tried to finish some series and read something new from my oldies. I picked my favorites from the bunch and became quite happy in the end because they are all adult books, with a few romances along the way.

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1)

1.  Jeaniene Frost

I had a hard time starting this series last year and decided to stop, but on the second time, Cat and Bones made me realise they are perfect and this is my new UF author to follow.

Bound by Night (MoonBound Clan Vampires, #1)

2.  Larissa Ione

I started two series from her and loved her creations, the universe and the vampires are so different. Will finish her series next year for sure.

Shadowed (Dark Protectors, #6)

3.  Rebecca Zanetti

She made me read two series back to back. She became my rush to buy author this year and her books are full of alpha males, so everything is extra hot. You can pick with cowboys or vampires.

The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1)

4. Gena Showalter

I have heard great things about this series, but it’s huge and I got a little scared, but those first books took my breath away. Loved the bromance, the fighting and the love. Felt to me like BDB. Gena is an author that I will read more next year.

Gone with the Wolf (Seattle Wolf Pack, #1)

5. Kristin Miller

Supernatural was my thing this year, but I barely read anything about wolves. This book was one of few and the author was a nice surprise for me. I already have book two waiting to be read.

The Look of Love (The Sullivans, #1)

6. Bella Andre

I fell in love with the Sullivans on the first book and this one became one of my favorite contemporary romance series. The covers are gorgeous and we can clearly picture them as everyday people.  Bella made an incredible series.

Recipe for Attraction (Madewood Brothers, #2)

7. Gina Gordon

For some reason I love when a big alpha male can cook. I think it makes them cute and super normal, even if not all men can do that. This series is all about start over. I liked the first book and loved even more the second. Can’t wait for more Madewood brothers.

Wrong Bed, Right Guy (Come Undone, #1)

8. Katee Robert

She was a great surprise for me. I loved the first book and had to read the rest ASAP. Tha is a proof to me of a great author. Katee creates those sizzle hot scenes with big alpha male fighting love.

Tempted by Her Boss (The Renaldis, #1)

9. Karen Erickson

This was one of my latest read this year and one boring afternoon I decided to read a freebie that I had from Amazon, turns out the story was only a prequel for a new series and I got so hooked that dispise my big TBR, the series got read. Loved her creation and these romances were full of feelings and drama.

One to Keep (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #3)

10. Sophie Oak

I love erotica and this book is the perfect example of a great erotica romance, because not everything has to be perfect, not everyone needs to know your secrets and most of all you need to trust your partner. Sophie create a cute and very charming town where love can be whatever you desire. I’m slowly reading this series and loving the different aspects of love she creates with each book.

Have you read any of those series?
