Summary:

When club-hopping bad girl Tiara Kent is found dead in her plush Manhattan apartment, the killing has all the earmarks of a vampire attack. The ever-practical Lieutenant Eve Dallas has to deal with superstitious cops carrying garlic and stakes, as well as the ever-hysterical press. None of the wealthy young victim’s friends seem to know much about the Dark Prince she has been secretly seeing. The chase to stop him before he kills again will lead Eve and her team into areas of the city that not even the most intrepid cop wants to visit, and into the very heart of darkness.

Now Magdelana Percell – there’s someone Eve can picture as a murder victim. Possibly at Eve’s own hands. The slinky blonde – an old flame of her billionaire husband, Roarke, from his days on the wrong side of the law – has turned up in New York, and she’s anything but innocent. Unfortunately, Roarke seems blind to Magdelana’s manipulation, but not to her shapely figure and flirtatious ways. And he insists that the occasional lunch or business meeting with her is nothing to worry about;and none of Eve’s business. Eve’s so unnerved by the situation that she finds it hard to focus on the Foster case. Still, she’ll have to put aside her anger, jealousy, and heartbreak, for a while at least – because another man has just turned up dead, and the case is taking some strange turns and hitting some frustrating dead ends.

Eve knows all too well that innocence can be a façade. Keeping that in mind may help her solve this case at last. But it may also tear apart her marriage.

Review:

This was a darker story because Eve had to deal with a murderer very close to what her father once was and this made her remember those moments of terror from her childhood. I liked the different setting and this time the story was fast and brutal, because we can see how much Eve is trying to close the case, but circumstances are always in the middle. I liked the way Roarke was by her side in this case, even McNab helped a little.

Summary:

The death of history teacher Craig Foster devastated his young wife, who’d sent him off to work that morning with a lovingly packed lunch. It shocked his colleagues at the Upper West Side private school. And as for the ten-year-old girls who found him in his classroom in a pool of bodily fluids, they may have been traumatized for life.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas, of course, is more hardened to murder cases. And this is clearly a murder case. That lovingly packed lunch was tainted with deadly ricin. And Mr. Foster’s colleagues, shocked as they may be, have some shocking secrets of their own. It’s Eve’s job to get a feel for all the potential suspects, and find out why someone would have done this to a man who seemed so inoffensive, so pleasant;so innocent.

Review:

The killer was easy for me to find, but I was a little scared in the end when Eve finally got the confession, the reason for the first murder is so small and this time we could clearly see this was a psychopath all the way. I loved the investigation and have to say that Eve was right almost from the start and people need to trust her better than just to blame in the past.

Magdalena was a pain in the ass, and Roarke deserved the punch and so much more for the moments he made Eve suffer and even judged her love for him. Even Summerset was on Eve side, so you can see who is right. They managed to find their passion and relationship back, but that Magdalena deserved to suffer a little more.

Summary:

Technology has advanced in 2060 New York City, but childbirth has been the same since the beginning of time. And despite the brutal double homicide on Lieutenant Eve Dallas’s caseload, she has to be there for her pregnant friend Mavis, even if it means throwing the dreaded baby shower. . .

But Mavis needs an even bigger favor now. Tandy Willowby, one of the moms-to-be in her class, has gone missing, just days before her due date – not even showing up at the shower at Eve and Roarke’s place that she’d been looking forward to so much. A recent emigrant from London, Tandy has few friends in New York, and no family. When Eve enters Tandy’s apartment and finds Mavis’s shower gift wrapped and ready on the table – and Tandy’s packed hospital bag still on the floor – her spine starts tingling.

Normally, this would be turned over to Missing Persons. Eve has more than enough on her plate trying to find out who murdered Natalie Copperfield and her fiancé, both employed at a highly prestigious accounting firm. But Mavis wants no one but Eve on the case – and Eve can’t say no. She’ll have to track Tandy down while tracing the deals and double-crosses hidden in the files of some of the city’s richest and most secretive citizens, in a race against a particularly vicious killer. Luckily, she has her multimillionaire husband Roarke’s expertise to help with the numbers-crunching. But as he mines for the crucial data that will break the case wide open, Eve faces an all-too-real danger in the flesh-and-blood world.

Review:

I only have one problem with this book and it’s nowhere so important, but why the story stories had to be connected when there was nothing to think even for the first moment the two things have anything in common.

I loved the way Roarke reacted with the way Eve’s superiors managed her new case, he showed a great deal how much he cares and we can see that she see things his way too, for the first time he was actually surprised and I liked to see this development in their life.

Mavis baby is finally coming and the scenes are hilarious, Eve and Roarke and super afraid of the actual delivery and they are trying really hard to make things easier for Mavis, loved the baby shower and the way Eve “read” everyone in the room.

But the mystery was strange and a little creepy for me, things took awhile to connect and I didn’t like the way everything was explained in the end.

Summary:

Number Twelve is an urban legend in 2060 New York City. The hot club in the 1960s, it is now reported to be haunted… and cursed. Lieutenant Eve Dallas is called there to investigate the apparent murder of Radcliff Hopkins, its new owner and the grandson of the man who made Number Twelve a cultural icon. Several bullets from a banned gun end his dream of returning the building to its former glory.

With everyone around her talking about the supernatural, pragmatic Eve won’t let rumors of ghosts distract her from hard evidence. The case becomes even more bizarre when it appears to be linked to the suspicious disappearance of a rock star eighty-five years ago. As Eve searches for the connection, logic clashes with the unexplainable. She may be forced to face the threat of something more dangerous than a flesh-and-blood killer.

Review:

This was a fast novella and strange too. Eve had to discover the killer of those people, one was buried in the building 85 years ago, so the second murder was a connection for sure. Roarke believes in the rumors about a ghost and the building was haunted, so they had a little problem in agreeing sometimes, but that’s a side of their relationship that I love. They are not perfect and both realise the moments to trust in your partner. The murders for me was too simple, but I loved Eve and Roarke making up.

Summary:

Eve Dallas is one tough cop. She’s got no problem dealing with a holiday reveler in a red suit who plunges thirty-seven stories and gives new meaning to the term —sidewalk Santa. But when she gets back to the station and Trudy Lombard shows up, it’s all Eve can do to hold it together. Instantly, she’s plunged back into the past, to the days when she was a vulnerable, traumatized girl—rapped in foster care with the twisted woman who now sits in front of her, smiling.

Trudy claims she just wanted to see how Eve was doing. But Eve’s husband, Roarke, suspects otherwise – and his suspicions prove correct when Trudy arrives at his office demanding money in exchange for keeping the ugly details of his wife’s childhood a secret. Barely restraining himself, Roarke shows her the door – and makes it clear that she’d be wise to get out of New York and never bother him or his wife again.

But just a few days later, Trudy’s found on the floor of her hotel room, a mess of bruises and blood. A cop to the core, Eve is determined to solve the case, if only for the sake of Trudy’s bereaved son. Unfortunately, Eve is not the only one to have suffered at this woman’s hands, and she and Roarke will follow a circuitous, dangerous path to find out who turned this victimizer into a victim.

Review:

This story was a little boring for me but I finished extremely fast. The bad guy for me was obvious and Eve had a gut feeling about it since the beginning, but I loved the christmas setting and to see her better in exchanging gifts. Roarke as always went overboard, but Eve learned to pick the right things for the people she considers family, even the cat got a present!

The mystery was closer to Eve because some woman decided to show up and blackmail Roarke, the problem was the woman died during her stay and of course Eve had to investigate to put peace in her mind mostly. I loved Roarke taking her side and even some scenes with Bobby, the victims son, because they have a past together. The woman was a foster parent of Eve after she was found in Texas, but she was not a great mom and Eve suffered a lot. I liked the ending and thought it was actually fitting, but could do better with those suspects.

Summary:

New York Police Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her partner Peabody enter the hallowed halls of the Wilfred B. Icove Center for Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery on a case. A hugely popular vid star has been beaten to a bloody pulp – and has killed her attacker in the process. After a post-op interview, Dallas and Peabody confirm for themselves that it’s a clear-cut case of self-defense, but before they can leave the building, another case falls into their hands.

Dr. Wilfred B. Icove himself has been found dead in his office – murdered in a chillingly efficient manner: one swift stab to the heart. Struck by the immaculate condition of the crime scene, Dallas suspects a professional killing. Security discs show a stunningly beautiful woman calmly entering and leaving the building: the good doctor’s final appointment.

Known as “Dr. Perfect,” the saintly Icove devoted his life to his family and his work. His record is clean. Too clean for Dallas. She knows he was hiding something, and suspects that his son, his successor, knows what it is. Then – like father, like son – the young Dr. Icove is killed . . . with the same deadly precision.

But who is the mystery woman, and what was her relationship with the good doctors? With her husband, Roarke, working behind the scenes, Dallas follows her darkest instincts into the Icoves’ pasts. And what she discovers are men driven to create perfection – playing fast and loose with the laws of nature, the limits of science, and the morals of humanity.

Review:

This was a tough story for Eve. She had to discover the killer of some hotshot doctor, but at the same time Roarke decided to invite his family for Thanksgiving. I love Roarke and during this book was the first time for me to see him a little nervous, he was scared and way to obsessed with the holidays, but he still helped Eve during those most difficult moments.

I loved the story, super different and a total match with the timing of this book. Since this series take place in the near future and almost everything is man-made. I had a pretty clear idea of the person responsible and that Eve would be on her side. She always consider people who suffered like her the victim, and tries to help most of the time. I loved her little trouble with Mira, makes things between them more family like for me. And Roarke family was hilarious.

Summary:

No affairs. No criminal connections. No DNA. No clues. Eve Dallas may be the best cop in the city – not to mention having the lavish resources of her husband Roarke at her disposal – but the Swisher case has her baffled. The family members were murdered in their beds with brutal, military precision. The state-of-the-art security was breached, and the killers used night vision to find their way through the cozy middle-class house. Clearly, Dallas is dealing with pros. The only mistake they made was to overlook the nine-year-old girl cowering in the dark in the kitchen. . .

Now Nixie Swisher is an orphan – and the sole eyewitness to a seemingly inexplicable crime. Kids are not Dallas’s strong suit. But Nixie needs a safe place to stay, and Dallas needs to solve this case. Not only because of the promise she made to Nixie. Not only for the cause of justice. But also to put to rest some of her own darkest memories – and deepest fears. With her partner Peabody on the job, and watching her back – and with Roarke providing the kind of help only he can give – Lieutenant Eve Dallas is running after shadows, and dead-set on finding out who’s behind them.

Review:

This story was extra hard for Eve and Roarke because a little girl needed their help and we all know they have a difficult time with kids because of their past. I loved seeing Eve lost with the kid and asking for help. Roarke was perfect in this story and became such a cute guy talking about kids, yes, plural, almost gave Eve a heart attack.

The story was simple to me and after Eve realised revenge was the reason, she nailed fast the person responsible. I liked to see Peabody again and it became clear to me that Eve circle is growing each day. Mavis is getting bigger and scaring Eve even more. Dr. Mira is always right in her questions, Eve really needed her with the kid. It was a different story because Eve got personal with a witness, but the investigation was easy enough.
