Series Saturday – The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine

This series has come to the big end and I’m sad to say goodbye. I love vampires and it was such a surprise for me to discover this young adult that actually made great vampires. Usually vampires books are more about sex and seduction, but this was completely different and the plot made me follow purely for Claire, a human. Can you imagine a town ruled by vampires and everyone knows and accept them? Rachel Caine did it and it was such a rush to discover the new adventures in each book of the Morganville series.

Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) The Dead Girls' Dance (The Morganville Vampires, #2) Midnight Alley (The Morganville Vampires, #3) Feast of Fools (The Morganville Vampires, #4)

When I started this series there were about 10 books already out and I was afraid to like and had to read all those, but they are fun and quite a fast reading. Everything happens and you can’t wait to find out so rush into this series. My favorite person was Claire and the book started with her discovery of the vampires and starting to deal with them. Morganville is not an easy town and everyone has their purpose, but Claire moved to university and had no idea in the nightmare she was getting into.

Lord of Misrule (The Morganville Vampires, #5) Carpe Corpus (The Morganville Vampires, #6) Fade Out (The Morganville Vampires, #7) Kiss of Death (The Morganville Vampires, #8)

For me the covers had a tremendous improvement and I liked the changes because they showed different sides of the story and made us see more of those characters. Like Michael for example, he’s a new vampire but his character changed quite a lot in the series and the covers helped notice the different sides of him. Another thing that I loved was the multiple POV, in the first few books we only get Claire, but later on is possible to see what Michael and Shane are thinking and this helped shed some light on their feelings.

Ghost Town (The Morganville Vampires, #9) Bite Club (The Morganville Vampires, #10) Last Breath (The Morganville Vampires, #11) Black Dawn (The Morganville Vampires, #12)

Another thing that changed during this series was romance, because at first things were more normal and dangerous but I think Shane and Claire are great together, they suffered a lot for the relationship and it’s clear things are not perfect but they have potential to make this more real and less teenage dream.

Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires, #13) Fall of Night (The Morganville Vampires, #14) Daylighters (Morganville Vampires, # 15)

Rachel Caine has released this week the last book and Morganville is over for now, because there’s a rumor about some web episodes going on and also several novellas to know more about some moments and get to know better some stories. Claire has been through a lot during this series and it was nice to see a closure.

Have you read this series or are you in the mood to give it a chance?

Series Saturday – Elemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep

Another week and this time I chose an Urban Fantasy series. I love powerful and very dangerous females. But the best part for me is the fact they never give up and are super intelligent. And these are the reasons why I love Gin and her adventures. If you are not familiar with her there’s nine books already released and several novellas for you to love.

Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) Web of Lies (Elemental Assassin, #2) Venom (Elemental Assassin, #3) Tangled Threads (Elemental Assassin, #4)

Can I say how much I love those covers and you can clearly see Gin is a badass!! Anyway, I started this series last year during a read-along and could not wait so I just keep reading. I loved the way this stories show more than an assassin, Gin has a family, a different one and nobody its perfect, but we can see how much they love each other and when one of those need her, you can bet Gin will keep her word.

Spider’s Revenge (Elemental Assassin, #5) Thread of Death (Elemental Assassin #5.5) By a Thread (Elemental Assassin, #6) Widow’s Web (Elemental Assassin, #7)

There’s a lot of story and I feel like Gin is sharing more of herself with her family and friends after all those books. I love her brother Finn and all those dirty little jokes of him, but my favorite was Owen, he made a terrible mistake and I don’t know exactly how to feel about him at the moment, but will see how it goes.

Deadly Sting (Elemental Assassin, #8) Carniepunk: Parlor Tricks Kiss of Venom (Elemental Assassin, #8.5) Heart of Venom (Elemental Assassin, #9)

There’s a huge series for you know and follow but every book released has me stalking Edelweiss for a copy. Otherwise Gin will use her magic and destroy me. Did I say that, she’s super powerful, like a witch I guess, with stone and ice power. Deadly combination. There’s one more book to be released in December and I already grabbed my copy, it’s pretty and awesome.

The Spider (Elemental Assassin, #10)

Series Saturday

This is actually a new feature here on the blog, because I’m trying to make things more personal and something that I really love are series, so decided to showcase the books that made me love or cry. This year I followed several series and managed to finish a few.

Fated (Dark Protectors, #1) Claimed (Dark Protectors, #2) Tempted (Dark Protectors, #2.5) Hunted (Dark Protectors, #3)

This week is one of my favorites that I read in barely a week. Rebecca Zanetti was a new author for me but I fell in love with her writing and now I can’t wait for her new releases.

First book was more of an introduction to the series, but the book is fast paced and we got to meet all the Kayrs brothers. I liked the fact these hot and strong males are big teddies with children and alpha with their mates.

Sounds a lot like the Midnight Breed, but we get to meet shifters, witches and demons too. Sounds like a lot right but the plot is a little different in each book, following along the big war against the Kurjans.

Consumed (Dark Protectors, #4) Provoked (Dark Protectors, #5) Twisted (Dark Protectors, #5.5) Shadowed (Dark Protectors, #6)

The covers have changed and this series was actually only supposed to be a trilogy with a novella on the middle. But the series was a huge success and the rest of the Kayrs brothers were wanting to have a HEA too, so now we have sexy and super hot covers.

I liked the fact that some secondary characters also got a full novel and had their chance to actually meet the girl of their life, I liked following the shifters getting frisky and the change of the covers design.

Have you actually read this series or are you in the mood to give it a chance?
