 Why I Started This Book:

When I first saw the cover for Bloodlines and started to read the summary, and discover it was a spin-off I went in search for the original series on Goodreads. In my contry there’s a lot of talking about Richelle Mead books, so decided to give it a shot and was very impressed.

Summary:

Salvation has its price.
The words stunned Adrian for a moment, but he kept going. “You’re lying. What you’re describing is impossible. There’s no way to save a Strigoi. When they’re gone, they’re gone. They’re dead. Undead. Forever.”

Robert’s next words weren’t directed at Adrian. They were spoken to me. “That which is dead doesn’t always stay dead….

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri’s birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s—and to her best friend, Lissa Dragomir. It’s graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives outside of the Academy’s cold iron gates to finally begin. But even with the intrigue and excitement of court life looming, Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri. He’s out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance, and now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and she knows in her heart that he is hunting her. And if Rose won’t join him, he won’t rest until he’s silenced her…forever.

But Rose can’t forget what she learned on her journey—whispers of a magic too impossible and terrifying to comprehend. A magic inextricably tied to Lissa that could hold the answer to all of Rose’s prayers, but not without devastating consequences. Now Rose will have to decide what—and who—matters most to her. In the end, is true love really worth the price?

Fall in love with Rose and Dimitri all over again in Spirit Bound, the eagerly awaited fifth novel in Richelle Mead’s enthralling Vampire Academy series.

My Thoughts:

I love this series, and of course this book has left out of breath some moments.
First Rose you’re not alone, and Adrian will always be with you just wish you loved him a little more, cause he deserves some happiness.
Lissa relationship with Christian sufer during this book after they’re break on the #4, and is a little strange to me watch them grow apart like they’ve never seen each other. That part I don’t really like. But I enjoy when they get together to help Dimitri and Rose.
In this book they are back to the court and the politics rule this part of the series along with romance and drama.
The end is a cliffhanger to final one, and since this serie is already finished I was fine with it, but if I had to with, lets just say it would be difficult.

You Might Enjoy This Book If:

You’ve read the other books on this series and can’t wait to see what will happen to Rose and Lissa, and of course Adrian.

Favorite Quotes:

“He has no right to threaten my boyfriends. I’m eighteen. An adult. I don’t need his help. I can threaten my boyfriends myself.”

“I’ve given up on you…Love fades. Mine has.”

 “Don’t touch her,” he growled.
There was a note in his voice that would of scared me if it had been directed toward me. He shoved me behind him, putting his body protectively in front of mine with my back to the table. Guardians came at us from all directions, and Dimitri began dispatching them with the same deadly grace that had once made people call him a god.”

“Most fathers don’t threaten to disembowel their daughter’s boyfriends.”
“That’s not true. And anyway, that’s not what I actually said. It was much worse.”

“You’re beautiful in battle,” said Dimitri. His cold voice carried to me clearly, even above the roar of combat. “Like an avenging angel come to deliver the justice of heaven.”
“Funny,” I said, shifting my hold on the stake. “That is kind of why I’m here.”
“Angels fall, Rose.”

Summary:

Rose Hathaway has always played by her own rules. She broke the law when she ran away from St. Vladimir’s Academy with her best friend and last surviving Dragomir princess, Lissa. She broke the law when she fell in love with her gorgeous, off-limits instructor, Dimitri. And she dared to defy Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi world, risking her life and reputation to protect generations of dhampir guardians to come.

Now the law has finally caught up with Rose–for a crime she didn’t even commit. She’s in prison for the highest offense imaginable: the assassination of a monarch. She’ll need help from both Dimitri and Adrian to find the one living person who can stall her execution and force the Moroi elite to acknowledge a shocking new candidate for the royal throne: Vasilisa Dragomir.

But the clock on Rose’s life is running out. Rose knows in her heart the world of the dead wants her back . . . and this time she is truly out of second chances. The big question is, when your whole life is about saving others, who will save you?

My Thoughts:
Last Sacrifice‘ is the last book in an amazing series, which has, to be honest, left me feeling a little depressed that it’s all over. I loved this book, is the last one, and I’ll miss this serie, especially Rose.
You Might Enjoy This Book If:
Is a series so I recommend the reading of the others first five books. This one is a series finale.
Favorite Quotes:
“Ah, my daughter,ʺ he said. ʺEighteen, and already youʹve been accused of murder, aided felons, and acquired a death count higher than most guardians will ever see.ʺ He paused. ʺI couldnʹt be prouder.”

“I don’t belong to anyone. I make my own choices.”
“And you’re with Adrian,” said Dimitri.
“But I was meant for you.”

“From behind Lissa, I heard Christian say, “Worst. Timing. Ever.” Adrian studied Lissa and then looked at Christain sprawling on the bed on the far side of the suite.
“Huh,” Adrian said, letting himself in. “So that’s how you’re going to fix the family problem. Little Dragomirs. Good idea.” Christian sat up and strolled toward them.
“Yeah, that’s exactly it. You’re interrupting official Council business.”

Summary:

Rose Hathaway’s life will never be the same.

The recent attack on St. Vladimir’s Academy devastated the entire Moroi world. Many are dead. And, for the few victims carried off by Strigoi, their fates are even worse. A rare tattoo now adorns Rose’s neck, a mark that says she’s killed far too many Strigoi to count. But only one victim matters . . . Dimitri Belikov. Rose must now choose one of two very different paths: honoring her life’s vow to protect Lissa—her best friend and the last surviving Dragomir princess—or, dropping out of the Academy to strike out on her own and hunt down the man she loves. She’ll have to go to the ends of the earth to find Dimitri and keep the promise he begged her to make. But the question is, when the time comes, will he want to be saved?

Now, with everything at stake—and worlds away from St. Vladimir’s and her unguarded, vulnerable, and newly rebellious best friend—can Rose find the strength to destroy Dimitri? Or, will she sacrifice herself for a chance at eternal love?

My Thoughts:

In one sentence: Lissa is nothing without Rose.
So far this is my favorite book on the series, and I love they the caracters are growing.
This book continues where Shadow Kiss left, with Rose living St. Vladimir after her birthday and going after Dimitri to end his misery.
Rose discover lots of things on her travel. First there’s a new caracter, Sydney Sage, an alquimist, who is responsible to clean after the guardians (news to Rose and us). Second there’s Abe Mazur, he dresses like a pimp or mob, and nobody really nows why he shows, but everything is explained in the end.
Rose’s live in Russia is not what I would expect. Dimitri wants to turn her into a Strigoi like him so they con live together. But one reason that stop her is Lissa. Things happen really fast after she realize that Lissa needs her and return to St. Vladimir is the only way. So she tries to escape, and thinks Dimitri is dead after their fight. But when she receives a note with a D as only signature, she knows he’s after her.
I think that’s one reason why I like this series, the author give us explanaitions about the story and past that lead the caracters now.
Lissa continues on school but is heartbroken after Rose left, and when a new person show up and they became friends, it shows to me at least that Rose suffers more than her, for their time apart. Avery Lazar is royalty like Lissa and they have interesting things in commun, but I still don’t like the who weak she is.

You Might Enjoy This Book If:

You’ve read the other three on this series and can’t wait to know if Rose will be able to fight with her love again.

Favorite Quotes:

“I’d said it before and meant it: Alive or undead, the love of my life was a badass.”

“I know how devastated you must be to miss me, but leave a message, and I’ll try to ease your agony”

“You forgot another lesson: Never turn your back until you know your enemy is dead. Looks like we’ll have to go over the lesson again the next time I see you—which will be soon.
Love, D.”

“You’ve asked me out tons of times.”
“Not really. I’ve made inappropriate suggestions and frequently pushed for nudity. But I’ve never asked you out on a real date.”

Summary:

And this time, it’s way more than a crush. Then Strigoi target the academy in the deadliest attack in Moroi history, and Dimitri is taken. Rose must protect Lissa at all costs, but keeping her best friend safe could mean losing Dimitri forever…

My Thoughts:

Is the third book in Vampire Academy series. I loved the action scenes, romantic ones but the end keep me hanging for the next one.
We discover on this book that Rose/Lisa bond is not a easy thing on them. Rose start having problems with humor, not that she had a great one from the beginning.
Rose start to keep secrets from Lisa and this part I didn’t like, but understad why she does it(she has a fierce protection for her friend). She has battles of her on, by seeying dead people and felling when strigoi are near by. Deal with the lost off a friend is difficult, but seeying him, makes it harder.
I still think Lisa is imature, and the end of this book shows exactually what I think, she doesn’t know Rose’s relationship with Dimitri, especially because she only cares about herself. Lisa’s attitude shows that she is selfish and out of control with her emotions. Christian is still with her, and helps a lot Lisa.
Rose and Christian fight in the big battle that happens on the school, making their friendship a bit better.
Dimitri shows more fellings towards Rose, making it difficult to live without each other.

You Might Enjoy This Book If:

You liked the first one and the second one, is series so is recommended read #2 before the #3.

Favorite Quotes:

“You will lose what you value most, so treasure it while you can.”

“What’s up?” I asked.
You tell me,” he (Christian) said. “You were the one about ready to start making out with Adrian.”
It was an experiment,” I said. “It was part of my therapy.”
What the hell kind of therapy are you in?”

“He stepped back and threw his arms out.
“I’m always crazy around you Rose. Here, I’m going to write an impromptu poem for you.”
He tipped his head back and shouted to the sky:
“Rose is in red
But never in blue
Sharp as a thron
Fights like one too.”

Summary:
Rose loves Dimitri, Dimitri might love Tasha, and Mason would die to be with Rose…
It’s winter break at St. Vladimir’s, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy’s crawling with Guardians—including Rose’s hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn’t bad enough, Rose’s tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason’s got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks… This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price…

My Thoughts:

Frostbite is the second book in Richelle Meads’ Vampire Academy series and it is just as good as the first.
We can she how Rose grows on this book, especially when she loses a close friend and consider herself guilty for his death. Dimitri shows a different side of him, more friendly towards Rose and their ‘friendship’.
We also see Rose’s mother Janine and understand more why she chose to raise Rose that way. And why Rose fells like she’d been abandoned by her mother. It’s a choice: career or family. One that Rose has already made by being Lisa’s guardian.

On the side there is Lisa and Christian relationship evolution, especially with some steamy scenes. They grow up alone and I can understand that they see each other like a soul mate.

You Might Enjoy This Book If:

You liked the first one, is series so is recommended read #1 before the #2.

Favorite Quotes:
“You can’t force love, I realized. It’s there or it isn’t. If it’s not there, you’ve got to be able to admit it. If it is there, you’ve got to do whatever it takes to protect the ones you love.”
“what’s your name?”
what?” i asked, squinting at the light.
your name.” I reconized Dr. Olendzki peering over me.
you know my name.”
I want you to tell me.”
Rose. Rose Hathaway.”
Do you know your birthday?”
Of course I do. Why are you asking me such stupid things? Did you lose my records?”
Dr. Olendzki gave an exasperated sigh and walked off, taking the annoying light with her. “I think she’s fine,”
“You know what would help?” I asked, not meeting his eyes.
“Hmm?”
“If you turned off this crap music and put on something that came out after the Berlin Wall went down.”
Dimitri laughted. “Your worst class is history, yet somehow, you know everything about Eastern Europe.”
“Hey, gotta have material for my jokes, Comrade.” Still smiling, he turned the radio dail. To a country station.
“Hey! This isn’t what I had in mind,” I exclaimed. I could tell he was on the verge of laughing again.
“Pick. It’s one or the other.”
I sighed. “Go back to the 1980s stuff.”
He flipped the dail, and I crossed my arms over my chest as some vaguely European-sounding band sang about how video had killed the radio star. I wished someone would kill this radio.”
“Not into older guys, huh?” asked Adrian once we were alone.
“You’re imagining things,” I said. “Clearly, my stunning beauty has clouded your mind.”
“Belikov is a sick, evil man who should be thrown into a pit of rabid vipers for the great offense he commited against you this morning.”
“Thank you.” I said primly. Then, I considered. “Can vipers be rabid?”
“I don’t see why not. Everything can be. I think. Canadian geese might be worse than vipers, though.”
“Canadian geese are deadlier than vipers?”
“You ever try to feed those little bastards? They’re vicious. You get thrown to vipers, you die quickly. But the geese? That’ll go on for days. More suffering.”
“Wow. I don’t know whether I should be impressed or frightened that you’ve thought about all of this.”

Summary:

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . .
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Caracters:

My Thoughts:

Vampire Academy is the first novel in a new series named Vampire Academy. The serie shows the types of vampires. The Moroi feed on blood and can work elemental magic. The Strigoi are undead vampires who are either Moroi who killed and become undead by choice – or there are humans, Dhampirs or Moroi who have been bitten and turned against their will.  Either way the Strigoi are the strong murderously blood-thirsty immortal vampires of traditional vampire lore. The Dhampirs are childrens of Moroi and a humam(or Dhampir). Dhampirs are strong and spend theirs lives being guardians of Moroi. They can walk on the sun like humans and are faster them Morois. They study to kill Strigoi.
St. Vladimir boarding school for vampires is located in Montana.
In the begging of the book whe read how Dimitri brings Rose and Lisa back to school after two years running away from the dangers around the vampire society.
I just loved the story, and specially Rose, she’s strong, has a bit of a temper, problems with following rules, but she loves her best friend and have a big heart to help everyone in need. I didn’t like very much of Lisa, she’s lost most of the book, despite Rose best efforts, she lost her family, and the discover of a new poder can be a little difficult. Dimitri is a special part. He becames a teacher of Rose when she returns to school after losing two years of practice. He’s older, russian, sexy and deadly and the most important, he believes in Rose when no one does. Victor Dashkov sounds like a interesting mind, and he’ll return on the next books.

You Might Enjoy This Book If:

You like vampires, they sound a little diferent on this book, showing the good and the bad side on a society. There’s romance also, kidnaping and a gorgeus russian warrior.
