Review:

I had one problem with book, the story is a spin-off from a previous series of the same author, but in several moments some moments of the past were quoted and it got me a little confused. It felt strange for me to read a follow-up, without knowing there was something previous affecting the way Jala think and act.

I liked the couple and thought it was super cute to follow them reconnect. Mohab was a nice guy and an extra hot special ops kinda guy, but now he just became a king and needs to marry Jala, because he loves her. See he’s cute, but Jala needed a little push in the right direction, and her brother did that so well.

They had a rough path, but we can see that in reality there’s more chemistry between them than ever, they just need to find some time to discuss feelings.

I was a little lost at first because this book is a spin-off prom another series, Pride of Zohayd and I didn’t read those books, but once the story caught my interest this was pushed to the side, because Aram and Kanza were so perfect together.

Aram is the brother of Johara, from this other series and this sister of his is really something else, because even pregnant she played matchmaker to her brother and a close friend. But Aram had given up marriage and kids, because of some events from his past. I wont spoiler for you, but let me just say is related to Kanza family, so he was against this match from the start, but after meeting the amazing Kanza, he decided to change his mind and pursue a friendship.

I really liked Kanza, because she has wit and it’s not afraid to say what’s on her mind. She brought some fresh life in Aram’s life. But she was in love with him for so long, that they becoming friends now is like too good to be true.

One think caught my eye since chapter two and made this book so good. Aram and Kanza were once familiar, but now they are becoming more than friends and their conversations are so fun to read. Kanza is full of wit and trying to keep Aram away, mostly because she’s in love with him since forever. And Aram had a very different view of Kanza and just now realized she could be perfect for him. I loved their encounters and it was so fun watching these fight a perfect relationship.

I never read the first series but it was really nice seeing Vincenzo fighting for his love and after his King made a decree. I like Glory and found her a bit to naïve, for my taste because she knows her family is a bomb and still believes everything her mother says and even accept her father and brother after all they done.

Don’t get me wrong everything was explained in the end, but Glory is just not my favorite girl and Vincenzo could had a fabulous woman with lots of expertise in business and live, but he feel in love and his eyes were closed for anything wrong Glory could do against him.

I liked seeing how much the king and the rest of the royal family are actually really close and live as a normal family with jokes and intrigue, but the best part for me was Vincenzo falling in love once again and this time fighting for Glory with all his power and money. They are actually pretty cute together.

Summary

"He would claim the throne. And her… "For Prince Haidar Aal Shalaan, taking the reins of a kingdom in chaos is a matter of honor. Not that his rivals to the throne would be defeated easily. And then there is Roxanne Gleeson, the one woman whose memory he cannot erase, the lover who once rejected him. Now she pretends a cold disdain for their once-and still-desperate passion. But he will not be denied either the throne of his motherland or Roxanne back in his bed. One is his birthright, the other his heart’s desire. And together they are…his redemption.
My Thoughts

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

The book tells the story of love, but of redemption. I know that is the name of the book but we can follow Haidar through his actions and see that some moments he chose to change and be a better person.
Haidar had an affair with Roxanne few years back and now they meet again. He is a candidate to the throne and the other two contestants are part of his family. But his past is not very good and his mother made a few mistakes that polluted his life. He’s got money and is very successful with his companies, but his mother wanted for him to be a king and tried to destroy a family to accomplish her dreams.
Haidar relationship with Roxanne ended because his mother got in the middle, at first she destroyed Roxanne’s family and them she kept lying to Haidar. He’s childhood was really bad and it seams nobody ever noticed how dark he was growing up. His mother is a really messed up woman.
So now in the present he met Roxanne again and tried to reconnect, but the feelings are still strong and she’s trying to work in forgetting him. His fears and her job kept getting in the middle.
I liked parts of the book. Haidar is a really dark person because of his mother and needs to learn to love like a normal person without judging and trusting. Roxanne is a pretty normal girl that feel in love young for a uptight guy, but never really tried to forget him and follow her life. True is the belong together and the chemistry is very strong. But this was not my favorite sheikh.
