Review:

Last book in this series and we have to say goodbye to these amazing characters. I loved Cat and Bones relationship, had some problems with the plot in some books, but in the general this series was a great Urban Fantasy read for me. Cat is strong and fair, always helping people, even if they are ghost or ghouls. But Bones was my favorite, his love was never ending and in every moment Cat needed his help, he was there for here. I can say that is a pretty awesome thing to say about a male that you chose to live with forever.

This story was different and perfect, because we get closure in the major plot and those sidelines characters, we see Ian again, he’s always there for Bones, but now is even more bittersweet after their relationship. I liked to see more of Denise and Spade, they are such a cute couple and he’s possessive of her with good reason, but the best part for me was the strange and twisted story behind that creepy guy working in her former unit for the government.

I tried not to say major spoilers for this book, but the story was fast paced and a great adventure too. If you read this series, beware to follow those books, because the last novella gave a huge push to this book.

Summary:

Originally appeared in the print anthology The Bite Before Christmas.

‘Tis the season to join Cat and Bones for some holiday cheer in this Night Huntress novella by USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost.

They were looking forward to a normal holiday—at least as “normal” as it gets for vampires Cat and Bones and their otherworldly friends and family. But their yuletide plans are shattered when a mysterious stranger shows up and reveals long-buried secrets that threaten to take a bite out of their holiday cheer … and lives.

Review:

This novella was a perfect fit for the series and it got me in a good mood for the next book. The holidays are difficult times for Cat and Bones, because every year somethings happen. I liked the plot in this novella, the demons are were only talked about in a spin-off series, but I liked the concempt, plus we got to see more of Denise in this one helping Cat. It was a little difficult for me to watch the way Bones treated Cat, but in the end Ian helped. I was never a huge fan of Ian, but he’s helping a lot lately.

Review:

This series has grown on me, but it’s almost over and I had such a hard time finishing this book. I wanted to love this story, but it was just to simple and a little confusing too. Ghosts are not my favorite in stories, but the more strange thing was how out of nowhere now Cat is the savior of the world and now every little thing must be addressed. I think it’s understandable how Bones always gets frustrated when their plans just disappear.

My first thought was how this plot was a little strange, but we also see some developments in Cat relationship with her mother, a super plus. The new director for the government agency Cat used to work was way too creepy, but his story will have to wait until next book. Guess my problem was the ghosts.

Summary:

Danger waits on both sides of the grave.

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they’ve triumphed over the latest battle, Cat’s new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance . . .

With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous “ally”; the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war . . . to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

Review:

My first read of the year and I rushed to finish, I liked the story but the end was a little to easy, the bad was a little soft and didn’t put much of a challenge. We could see the changing from the previous books and it was predictable to see those ghouls were up to something bad pretty soon. In this book we can see Cat and Bones trying to stop the murder of vampires. Those ghouls are following some stories that Cat could kill them all.

I liked two things from this story, we have more Vlad and all those friends decided to help. Mencheres has changed a lot since Kira became his new boo and we could see a different and more soft side of him in this book. Spade also changed, but only because now life is really dangerous for Denise and he’s always worried. For me the friends and all those funny moments made this book so much fun.

Summary:

An immortal war has been brewing in the darkness . . . And now one woman has stumbled into the shadows.

Chicago private investigator Kira Graceling should have just kept on walking. But her sense of duty refused to let her ignore the moans of pain coming from inside a warehouse just before dawn. Suddenly she finds herself in a world she’s only imagined in her worst nightmares.

At the center is Mencheres, a breathtaking Master vampire who thought he’d seen it all. Then Kira appears, this fearless, beautiful . . . human who braved death to rescue him. Though he burns for her, keeping Kira in his world means risking her life. Yet sending her away is unthinkable.

But with danger closing in, Mencheres must choose either the woman he craves, or embracing the darkest magic to defeat an enemy bent on his eternal destruction.

Photobucket

Review:

Mencheres was not high on my list, but after this book and the way he behaved while in love we can clearly see that he was just turned of the actions his wife created. I loved seeing this side of him and the discoveries while hiding. It’s nice not to know everything that’s about to happen. His Egyptian and there’s way too much story behind him, I never would had imagined him as a pharaoh.

I liked Kira and her way of helping people and avenging those wrongs. She’s a really strong woman and Mencheres deserved someone like her to show the world can be different and that selfish bitch that almost  killed Bones. Kira is full of life, but at the same time she knows how humans are dangerous. I liked that she didn’t get completely scared, but she also can understand this different world. Her changing was a bit abrupt, but in a way, was better than waiting forever.

I didn’t understand the point of having a Law, when not even the vampires working for it use it clearly. But I love to see more of Vlad and the couple of Cat and Bones.

Review:

This book was not on my list for this month, but after finishing the last Cat and Bones adventure, I needed more so decided to read this spin-off, and all I can say is how much I’m going to miss these vampires when this series is finished. Lucky for me I have all the books now and don’t need to wait because Spade was just as good and Denise made me mad so much. Come on, she’s a big girl and knows too much to simply assume things would be fine in the end.

I loved watching this different side of Spade. Never would have imagined how much he suffered and he still has hope for humanity. I loved this soft and very gentle vampire falling in love and trying to save his human. Denise was boring most of the book and kept running. Her husband died over a year, so last assume it’s enought time for her to start living again.

I understand her reasons to step away from this world, but when things got strange the first persons she asked for help, hmm, let’s see, the vampires. Don’r get me wrong. I loved the story, but hate a heroine that only knows how to whine and complain of the fortune life trow at her.

Review:

Since I’ve already read and reviewed the other short story, this is only a couple of my thought for the Night Huntress novella. I’m loving this series and it was quite nice to see Cat and Bones normal again, plus another image of Cat’s mother after she became a vampire. That is a strange notion for me until now, but I enjoyed seeing her help save a little human in trouble.

The fighting was more dangerous than I expected because this is just a novella, but for a moment I thought Cat was going to be finished, since she’s still leaning to deal with her vampire powers. Bones sure does have some great friends. Fun story and a great past time for the night.

Review:

Another great adventure for this couple, but things are not easy and I loved seeing Cat and Bones having some difficult times in their relationships. Don’t get me wrong I love them together, but this time apart made them realise better the moments to share some things and to understand the other person. Cat is always hiding secrets and plans, but this made them see that not even death is forever.

The difficult time for me was Mencheres knowing things and not sharing. He wasn’t my favorite vampire but he did grow on me and I was hoping for him to be a good guy. So I was a little nervous in discovering his secrets. Another surprise for me was Cat change, because I did not expected to happen so soon. And she’s a completely different vampire, loved that part. Another vampire that showed a different personality was Spade. He treated Cat really bad, but I can see his point and he was right, but it was surprising for me.

This series is becoming one of my favorites.

Review:

This novella was a little different for me but I enjjoyed. There’s not much of Bones and Cat, we have mostly a new vampire named Elise trying to save a human from certain death, sounds completely off the series, but we also have Mencheres helping and I decided he sounds like a normal vampire and after the events from the war, he’s not so bad. I’m not dying of love for Elise or Blake, because they are nothing compared to Bones or Vlad, but this was a nice story and more from the Night Huntress world.

Review:

This series started a little slow, but everybody love it so I decided to give it another try and the second book was really good, but this third made me love Bones and Cat. There’s almost everything on this novel, from war, to death and even some magic. I read the novellas and was expecting a little change in this universe, but let me say this time I was surprised with the twists.

I loved this plot, Bones is perfect once again and this time they are married so he’s extremely jealous and trying so hard to protect her that is kinda funny. Cat is not a princess, and she get hurt a lot. I liked the difference in this book, most of all because we get to see more of the vampires rules and their inner circle loyalty. Plus Cat’s mom finally stopped being so hard on Bones, their relationhsip is not perfect, but things are better.

The war was different for me, because I expected a full army attacking, but things ended up being more dangerous that that. I really liked the changes and now we even have Tate as a vampire, plus he’s abssessive with Cat. Super strange situation.
