Review: Laid Bare by Lauren Dane

Laid Bare (Brown Siblings, #1)

Unexpected Desire…
It’s been ten years since clean-cut, sexy-as-hell police officer Todd Keenan had a white-hot fling with Erin Brown, the provocative, wild rocker chick next door. Their power exchange in the bedroom got under his skin. But love wasn’t in the cards just yet…
Now, life has thrown the pair back together. But picking up where they left off is tough, in light of a painful event from Erin’s past. As Todd struggles to earn her trust, their relationship takes an unexpected and exciting turn when Todd’s best friend, Ben, ends up in their bed–and all three are quite satisfied in this relationship without a name. As the passion they share transforms Erin, will it be enough to help her face the evil she thought she had left behind?

Erin was a very strong woman ten years ago and she had a very normal relationship with Todd, but he was afraid of the hurt and how much darker their sex lives was. She liked a bite of pain and he was always torn about what was enough, constantly thinking it wasn’t normal and how he was raised.

I loved Erin from before but it was so interesting the author made was watch how much the years and lost changed her. I believe it was very important to see she was a carefree woman always working for her band and finding happiness in the breddorm giving up her body and mind to Todd.

I hated how Todd kept second gessing their passion and decided to break things up. He suffered and learned he had the perfect life and gave up just because he was afraid of different. I think Erin accepted him back way to easy, but I understand the book is about more than these two and I liked how the author introduced their third partner into the mix.

Ben is sure about his relationship and always loved Todd, plus had a very normal dose of passion for Erin while she was a famous singer. They are great together, but it was a bit off for me how Todd accepted Ben in his life so easily. Is past ten years but it’s never easy for a guy to understand another man wants him and to do something about it.

I liked the book, but still don’t think Todd was ready for a M/M relationship.
