Summary:

Jase Kayrs was the fun brother. The warm, charming, easy-going brother of the vampire leaders. Until he was taken and tortured by demons with their evil mind tricks for nearly five years. Upon his return, he’s dark, violent, and not the man they all thought they knew. Not the man he once was. He’s haunted that the only reason the demons would have let him live was to use him as a weapon against his family—but he can’t figure out when or how he’ll explode. Plus, once again the demons are after Jase with a vengeance…or rather, a female demon he rejected is out to destroy him.

Then the king asks Jase for a favor…a big one. To mate with one of their allies in order to save her. She’s everything that’s good and light in the world…while he’s at home with darkness. Yet he agrees…knowing mating may be the only chance to save them both.

Review:

I feel in love with this series and ever since the ending of Twisted we can see that Jase is in a bad shape and needs some hepl after all the drama he went throught with the Demons, but now the world is a little different and the Kairs are in war with pratially everybody. That’s why the king asked hm to mate with Brenna, to unite even more the vampires with the witches.

Brenna is in a bad shape and can’t acess her powers anymore, she has a few more months of life and this mating is possibly the last chance she has to fight the poison inside her, but Jase also has a problem and since he was kidnapped he can control the elements. This mating was supposed to help the both, but things are not that sinple and now everybody is after Brenna.

I liked this book so much. It was amazing seeing all the Kayrs family again and Jase was such a ncie guy even after everything. Brenna was a huge help for him, and these two are so cute together. The war is still going strong, but the demons and the kurjans are losing more each day.

Romance Review: Under the Covers by Rebecca Zanetti

Under the Covers (Maverick Montana, #2)

Opposites don’t attract. They ignite.
The small Montana town near the Kooskia reserve seemed like the perfect place for Juliet Montgomery to hide from her not-so-law-abiding family. But when her peace is shattered by a break-in and threatening phone calls, it’s clear someone back in New York knows where she is. It’s time to plan her getaway, and fast—but first, she needs to tie up a few loose ends. Namely, finding out exactly what the town’s sexy cowboy sheriff is hiding in his holster…
Sheriff Quinn Lodge has enough demons of his own to know when someone’s hiding something. Clearly, he needs to do a thorough investigation to uncover what’s beneath Juliet’s uptight, city-girl exterior—preferably one piece of clothing at a time. But when their chemistry goes from fizzy to full-on explosive, things start getting complicated. How can Juliet stay beneath the covers with Quinn, when doing so means blowing her cover?

I do love a good investigation and this book was the perfect mix between a detective and romance novel. Even after all the drama I liked the fact Quinn decided to give a chance to his relationship and start a life with Juliet.

I still don’t understand how they can be cowboys and still have a everyday job, but this series was a nice surprise. I liked the Rebecca Zanetti created a good paranormal scenario, but this tiny town also has it’s beauties, especially with those super hot indian cowboys. This family is really good and I was impressed by their courage and affection.

Juliet was more like a shadow to me, because I never got to truly like her and those parts she actually appeared in this book I was more interested in the story or Quinn, so nothing good but not so bad either. Quinn was the complete opposite for me because he’s super cute and friendly, but also suffering after the post war drama. I really liked his character and bravery.

Paranormal Review: Provoked by Rebecca Zanetti

Advice:

Due to its strong sexual content, this novel is recommended for readers older than 18.

I wanted more from Kane, don’t get me wrong there’s romance and action, but he’s such a genius that I wanted more difficulty for him. It was fairly easy to discover his mate and to actually consume the mating, but Amber made thing difficult afterwards.

Kane was after Jase for years and now the Kayrs family discovered a way to change the war. But I liked Amber and the way she made things different, she’s a vegetarian and changed Kane gradually.

It was a nice book, but the passion was bigger in the other couples and this felt a little to easy for me. Wanted more action from this book too. The rescue was a bit staged too.

Paranormal Review: Consumed by Rebecca Zanetti

Consumed (Dark Protectors, #4)

Sometimes You Mate For Life
Katie Smith is the best of her class, part of an elite hunting force trained to eliminate werewolves from the hills of Western Virginia. She’s good at it because she has the kind of focus and drive that won’t back down no matter how steep the odds. Call it southern sass. Whatever it is, there’s no denying her willingness to risk everything for the only man she’s ever cared about–a man on the verge of losing his very humanity. . .
Sometimes You Mate To Stay Alive
For the past ten years Jordan Pride has dedicated his life to protecting his people from a deadly shifter virus. But in a rare moment of distraction, Jordan’s guard drops just long enough for his fate to take an irreversible twist. Unless the woman he loves surrenders everything to him, again and again, under a full moon rising. . .

Advice:

Due to its strong sexual content, this novel is recommended for readers older than 18.

We met Katie since book one and I was expecting for her HEA, but the story took a turn for worst like always happens in this series and now I’m kinda worried about this couple.

Have now idea why shifters sometimes are afraid, because most of the times they listen to the inner animal, but Jordan didn’t wanted to mate with Katie before and now that her life is in danger, he’s all for the mating.

Don’t get me wrong they are perfect together and should had mated long before, but he had that “older than you” thing going on and now is almost too late.

I liked getting to know other shifters and the change in this series, because I got the felling this would be only about the Kayrs family, but the other couples are nice too and deserved a little book also.

Romance Review: Against the Wall by Rebecca Zanetti

Against the Wall (Maverick Montana, #1)

Never challenge a cowboy in the courtroom…
Surveying the proposed site for a high-end golf course should have been a breeze for spunky Landscape Architect Sophie Smith. But when this born-and-bred city girl is suddenly—and quite literally—swept off her feet by a sexy cowboy on horseback, she realizes that the country life has some serious (and seriously steamy!) possibilities. That is, until she finds out exactly who her smokin’-hot wrangler really is.
Cowboy and Tribal lawyer Jake Lodge is desperately trying to block the development. And if that means playing hardball—and being every inch the shark lawyer—so be it. But Sophie is a distraction he didn’t expect. A distraction that makes his blood burn.
Two different worlds. Two opposing sides. And when they finally give into the exquisite temptation, the consequences will shake the foundations of both of their lives…

I do love a cowboy book and this one was a great pick. I read the entire series of Dark Protectors and needed another book from Rebecca Zanetti, lucky for me she also write romances and I jumped on the chance to read this series. Her cowboys are so hot and very intelligent too. I have no idea how the manage to work and fix the farm too, but they have independent life’s. This first book introduced the family Lodge. They are more than just cowboys, they have indian blood and are very honored of the heritance.

Sophie was such a nice girl and I really liked her. I had my doubts about her relationship with Jake along the book, but she was great with the family and we can clearly see her past is a little confusing for her. Jake has a dark past because of his ex-wife and now he raises his daughter with the help of his family, but he’s very successful lawyer and is kinda against Sophie at first but things took a turn and these two are good together.

I loved this family and can’t wait for more Lodge falling in love.

Another brother to fall in love. And this time we already knew a little about their mating and the circuntancies were a bit difficult for these tow, but I loved Conn since the first book.

Moira was not my favorite, she spent one hundred years learning and the only thing that crosses her mind is how much Conn left her when she’s well aware of the reasons he left. She sound and acted like a child in this book. I expected more from her because she was already part of this world, but didn’t really loved her.

They are way to powerfull and I liked watching Conn kicking some ass, the guy is even good in magic. The couple is actually great together after Moira accepted their bonding.

Advice:

Due to its strong sexual content, this novel is recommended for readers older than 18.

King Dage book was more darker than the first because now the Kurjans are destroying the bond between a mated couple, and kidnaping the women, but Emma is a geneticist and sister of Cara, so Dage went to retrieve her from the Kurjans.

We had a clear idea these two were perfect as a couple because Dage visited Emma dreams for years now and she was well aware of who he was in the first moment they me, but she isn’t want a relationship afraid of losing her freedom.

But the Kurjans infected her sister and she’s the only one who can try to discover an antidote. I liked these two together, because Dage is a really lonely guy, we know he has a very strong and healthy life with his brothers, but he lost his parents really young and had to battle for years against the Kurjans and now he’s the King.

He has all the power, but nobody really understand how miserable is to make those rules. Emma was his perfect match, because she’s usually so worried about other people and spend way to long protecting her family.

Paranormal Review: Fated by Rebecca Zanetti

Fated (Dark Protectors, #1)

Marry Me! Cara Paulsen does not give up easily. A scientist and a single mother, she’s used to fighting for what she wants, keeping a cool head, and doing whatever it takes to protect her daughter Janie. But "whatever it takes" has never before included a shotgun wedding to a dangerous-looking stranger with an attitude problem.
Or Else! Sure, the mysterious Talen says that he’s there to protect Cara and Janie. He also says that he’s a three-hundred-year-old vampire. Of course, the way he touches her, Cara might actually believe he’s had that long to practice. . .

Advice:

Due to its strong sexual content, this novel is recommended for readers older than 18.

New series that I fell in love with, there’s the best of everything, from vampires to werewolves and even gifted humans, but the reason I liked so much was the strong connection between Talen and Cara.

We can see from the first touch these two are meant to be and they are super hot together but not everything is perfect and the reason Talen went after Cara is because the Kurjans are after gifted females humans and her daughter Jaine can predict the future.

Sounds like a lot right, but for the first book is expected to be a little overwhelming. I liked Cara and how strong she became, she’s no wallflower, but her father was a brute and liked to hit a lot in name of God, so she’s a little afraid to use her powers, but Talen helped her a lot in this book.

Another great part was meeting the rest of the Vampire clan, because the Kayrs are very male and very powerfull, but caveman’s all the way. Each book so far feature one brother meeting their mate and Talen was the first.

But more bad things are happening around them and now the war is in full swing.
