They also have a new baby and are enjoying the night alone since Tad hired the teenagers from the pact to babysit for them. Sweet as the other novella, but a different side of this couple.

Another Read-A-Thon

Letters Inside Out button

I don’t have much time this weekend, because of college and real life, but I’ll try to get some reading done in the middle of it all, so why not sign up for this read-a-thon?

This one is hosted by Amanda in Letters Inside Out, and you can find the link to the sign up post on the picture.

My updates will be on this same post and I have no idea how they will be so far, but will figure it out later today.

My goal is to finish 500 pages in these 4 days. I think is manageable and the count starts with a book I already started but since there’s still about 100 pages to finish is all good.

I’ll update this post with the books finished and the amount of pages left to read until the end of the read-a-thon.

Book Finished

Operation: Endgame (When the Mission Ends, #1)Breaking Free (Masters of the Shadowlands, #3)Lean on Me (Masters of the Shadowlands, #4)Make Me, Sir (Masters of the Shadowlands, #5)

100 pages on Friday from Operation: Endgame.

170 pages on Saturday from Breaking Free.

220 pages on Sunday from Lean on Me.

296 pages on Monday from Make me, Sir.

Final Thoughts

I read 786 pages in this four days and managed to participate in one challenge. Did pretty good in a weekend with RL and less reading.

The Granite Lake pack’s First Night celebrations are loud, boisterous and full of fun. But Robyn and Keil, the pack Alphas, are looking for a bit of quiet for a private celebration…

This was a sweet and short novella and we got to see a bit more of the characters from the first book. Since is Christmas and the pack is all about parties, the Alphas decided to enjoy alone time.

I loved Keil and Robyn from the first book of the series and now they have a little girl, so the night alone was a dream coming true. Nice novella.

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Tad Maxwell’s workaholism serves to keep his bush-pilot company in the air, and his inner werewolf in check. In the two years since he discovered his heritage, he’s resisted the longing to test the power of his wolf side. It would mean compromising his human principles.

Then Missy Leason re-enters his life. Ten years ago, their teenage attraction never went beyond hand-holding. Now their chemistry is off the charts, pushing him closer to the step he’s not sure it’s safe to take, especially with a human.
But Missy is more like Tad than he realizes. She’s wolf too,and a wolf pack is a dangerous place to have secrets.

Missy’s Alpha has sniffed out her carefully hidden Omega powers. Her first response: run from the corrupt Alpha’s plan to make her his mate. Step two: get to Tad, and hope like hell his untapped powers are strong enough to negate her own.

Every touch with Missy is hot, hot, hot, but even finding out she’s pure wolf doesn’t solve Tad’s dilemma. Is she using him, or are they truly destined mates? Only one thing is certain. He will defend her to his last breath—on his terms. Even if it means losing his life.

Warning: Contains nasty Alphas, secret Omegas and werewolves acting raunchy on the dance floor. Sarcasm, wilderness cabins and hot nookie back by popular demand.

This is the second book in this sweet werewolf series. The fun part for me is the fact we already know the characters from previous books and have a few thoughts about the perfect mate for them.

Tad is a half wolf and needs a trigger to fully develop, we met him because his sister Robyn is now mated with Keil and their story was the first introduced to us in this series.

Tad always knew he needed a little help to became a wolf, but there’s a problem for him. He needs to have sex with a female wolf and the single ones can inprint in him and became obsessed thinking he’s their mate, so he doesn’t want to create these wrong feelings and being the good guy he chose to wait for the right time and the right wolf.

Missy was Tad girlfriend during high school and now she’s running from her pack, because the alpha killed her husband, since she wasn’t mated with him, and want her all to himself.

Missy needs to escape and run to Tad for help, but things got a lot more interesting when they actually mated and he didn’t want to believe because of the imprint. The only reason he accepted her was because she was a widow and he thought her mate was death, so no problem.

I liked Tad story and how these two actually helped each other when it was necessary. The action on the last chapter was impressive too. Great little story.

Review: Hunted by Evangeline Anderson

Hunted (Brides of the Kindred, #2)Title: Hunted
Author:  Evangeline Anderson
Series: Brides of the Kindred
Publisher:  E. A. Publishing
Format: ebook

Genre: Erotica
Release date: April 29th 2011
Number of pages: 466

Sophia Waterhouse has always been afraid of needles and vampires so there’s no way she wants anything to do with a modern day Count Dracula—even if he does come wrapped in the package of a huge Kindred warrior with blond hair and ice blue eyes. She’s only on the Kindred Mothership to participate in her sister Liv’s wedding and that’s all.
Sylvan is a Tranq Kindred who has made a sacred vow never to call a bride. After a devastating rejection on his home planet, his heart is a block of ice no one can melt—or so he thinks until he meets Sophia.
When their ship is forced down in the middle of a rugged mountain range Sophia and Sylvan are stranded. Running for their lives they have only each other to depend on. Will they give in to the intense attraction between them or will the evil hunting Sophia take its toll?

Photobucket

This was a very long book and it follows Claimed story. We met Sophia and Sylvan during Liv and Baird claiming period and now these two are getting married and all hell broke lose once the bad guys decided to kidnap Sophia thinking she can save them from destruction.

Pretty insane right, but I love an alien erotica and this series is good in delivering the hotness. These guys are warriors and they chosen one female to spent the rest of their life with.

But that not how things starter for Sophia and Sylvan. He was denied once during a claiming period and now chose to live as a eunuch, but his goddess has other ideas and made him feel really hot while close to Sophia, but she has no idea of anything happening because she’s just a human and is just now learning the Kindred rules.

Sylvan is like a vamp and needs to suck blood from his Bride to perform the claiming, but Sophia was once abused and has issues with any kind of male, plus these two are hiding and running from the hounds.

I liked this book and even enjoyed the Sylvan and Sophie problems for a bit, bit these two are too dumb to mess with. They had no idea what was happening half the time and even if Sylvan passed through this once, he just can’t believe it’s happening. Hello you are a male and close to a pretty woman, we both know what happens.

But I liked that we got to see more of the other stories and the author started explaining more of the Kindred’s home planet.

This is the first book of a new witch series and as soon I read the summary the book became a wishlist. It’s started sounding different and intriguing, but over all of that I liked the romance and how after all the years these two discover a way to be together.

There some parts that just don’t click for me. Kalissa is very powerful and a divinities like her sister, her family and friends are also witches and she’s surrounded by love and power, but a strange guy shows up and put a spell on her without anyone noticing? Didn’t sound right, especially when nothing was done to prevent the relationship between these two.

I liked the adventure side and how all the divinities became together to vanquish once and for all the evil demons. Kalissa was really important to unite and make them work. These people are afraid but they do nothing to stop them.

I liked Ayden and how caring he became after realizing what happened on the past. He’s really a nice guy and he’s new love with Kalissa was really great to see, plus the sex scenes were good.

As Kylie races to unravel the mystery and protect those she loves, she finally unlocks the truth about her supernatural identity, which is far different—and more astonishing—than she ever imagined.

Photobucket

This series is so much fun and the adventures just make things more interesting. We got to see more of Kylie and her very strange and dangerous love life. Between an werewolf and the his pact against the romance things get really ugly.

But Kylie is also in the middle of an investigation related with the newest ghost appearing for her, but I liked how things are turning and we got news of Kylie family and what she really is.

It was strange at first to understand Kylie power and also to see how dangerous her life can be with a crazy vampire hunting her for a romance and his coven meddling over the future.

This book better than the others, but so difficult to explain without telling a few spoilers. I liked how strong Kylie became since she went to Shadow Falls on the first book and she’s getting better at helping the ghosts and understanding how to discover the past of her family.

Forgotten Visions Book Tour with Giveaway!

Hey guys, today I have author Lia Davis sharing an excerpt of her book Forgotten Visions for you guys. I’ve read it already and it’s intriguing and really special, my review will be posted later today, but there’s a giveaway going on and I wanted to give you a chance to sign up faster. I will leave you with a little bit of Ayden and Kalissa.

Ayden Daniel had only been in Charlotte an hour before his cousin, Zach, called with a favor. No. Not quite a favor. A request that sounded more like a plea.

“You’re shittin’ me?”

“I’m afraid not. Charlotte PD said it was a hit and run.”

Right. “Please tell me she’s …”

“She’s alive. A bump on the head, but she’ll be okay.” Zach hesitated before continuing. “I know how you feel about her, but you’ll have to go get her.”

A muttered curse slipped from his lips at the same time his heart lodged in his throat. “Fine.” The word came out in an irritated huff. Ayden hung up and wished he had never answered the damn phone. No, that wasn’t completely true. He would never forgive himself if something happened to Kalissa that he could have prevented.

She was the one person he’d hoped to avoid as much as possible when he’d taken his place as Sheriff of Maxville. It wasn’t that he disliked her, that was the problem. Despite his better judgment and a glutton for punishment, he still cared too damn much for the woman.

The mere mention of her name made his pulse race with excitement. His body hardened at the thought of seeing her again after fifteen years. But his mind screamed to walk away. To let her be. Kalissa was trouble, and a hazard to his heart. She’d broken it once—torn it right out of his chest—at the age of seventeen.

A human friend had laughed at the mention of their young age and Ayden’s claim that she was the only one for him. A mistake on his part to confide in a human and expect him to understand magickin way of life. Magickin children developed at a faster rate. At the age of seventeen, he was as mature as most twenty-five-year-old humans and fully aware that he had met his eternal companion.

They were life partners—magical mates—destined to spend their extended lives together. To find one at such a young age was a gift.

A gift she stole from him.

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there’s this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that’s possible. Against all common sense, I’m falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

Since last year I’ve been hearing great thoughts about Obsidian and I had the chance to read last month. I simply loved!! The action, the romance drama and the almost death of certain characters. I also liked the prequel and I found it very important to fully understand how bad the DOD can be and why Dawson disappeared.

This is the second book in the series and I’m very happy to say that the wait was not very long since it took me forever to start the first one to begin with. But I couldn’t wait to hear more from Daemon and all around the blogosphere they were talking about him.

So I bough on the release day and read last weekend, during the read-a-thon. I loved the name and how the author continued with the stones as the main factor and I have no idea how she found so many with an O.

The story started right where Obsidian ended and Daemon is trying to work in a relationship with Katy, but she thinks is only this new link between them that is messing with his emotions. He gets really romantic during some parts of the book and she gets more in love with him, plus he’s not the douchebag from the first book. Another plus.

But not everything is great and there’s a new guy in town. And he knows all about Katy new power, strange right, but she trust him and pushes Daemon away. This I really didn’t like it. She knows nothing about the guy and he proves to be dangerous several times, but she still trust him. So not cool.

The DOD is in town and things are really stressing, especially when Katy sees Bethany one day. Secrets started to be discovered and Katy’s life is once again in dangerous. But Daemon was so sweet on the end that everything can be forgiven.

I liked this book better then the first one, because the characters showed more feelings and sounded better, Katy can work in the police sometimes because she sure can find things when she wants.
