With so much working against them, can love prove stronger than the birthright and the biology that separates them?

Review:

Not the best book in this series for me, because everything felt a little lost and there was almost no fight. Payne we met previously in this series and this is her story, but it felt like it was V and Doc Jane book two. There was way too much DR between this couple and after they found each other, I really thought things wereperfect, but V is messed up so a relationship is really difficult for him.

After discovering that Payne was his sister, V kinda lost it, but the book is also about Doc Manello helping Payne walk again and their love story. Nothing too complicated and he didn’t even changed, so a failure to me.

We also got some new and very badass vampires coming to town and creating all kinds of drama with the glymera, making everything more difficult for Wrath in the near future.

Summary:

John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown to himself and to those around him. After he was taken in by the Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was — or his true identity. Indeed, the fallen Brother Darius has returned, but with a different face and a very different destiny. As a vicious personal vendetta takes John into the heart of the war between vampires and their enemies, he will need to call upon both who he is now and who he once was in order to face off against evil incarnate — and rescue his one true love.

Photobucket

Review:

I loved seeing John grow and the changes some dark moments made in his soul. We can see how much he loved Torh and the new life he was introduced to, but everything became more after he met Xhex and we watched that tiny and scared man fall in love. They sounded so different in the first moment and we watched things change over the books, so for me their story is more than just this book.

I loved seeing John and hs fight to have Xhex back after Lash kidnapped her, but the best of all was the way he made her change, not completely, but to accept him and trust in another person, she suffered a lot and we saw some stories from Darius past that are connected with Xhex.

The book is also about Quinn and Blay, we can see their relationship has changed and is now in the verge of completely disappear. Can’t wait for their story.

Summary:

Used to cold silence, Faith NightStar is suddenly being tormented by dark visions of blood and murder. A bad sign for anyone, but worse for Faith, an F-Psy with the highly sought after ability to predict the future. Then the visions show her something even more dangerous – aching need…exquisite pleasure. But so powerful is her sight, so fragile the state of her mind, that the very emotions she yearns to embrace could be the end of her.

Changeling Vaughn D’Angelo can take the form of either man or jaguar, but it is his animal side that is overwhelmingly drawn to Faith. The jaguar’s instinct is to claim this woman it finds so utterly fascinating and the man has no argument. But while Vaughn craves sensation and hungers to pleasure Faith in every way, desire is a danger that could snap the last threads of her sanity. And there are Psy who need Faith’s sight for their own purposes. They must keep her silenced – and keep her from Vaughn.

Photobucket

Review:

I loved Vaughn D’Angelo since book one, but the best part was seeing him struggle to change Faith and make her accept this different reality full of love and emotions. She’s the second Psy to abandon the net and we can see that after Sascha left things started to become a little difficult, but Faith was very important and her work is extremely powerful. Faith can see the future and the companies hire her to predict theirs investments, but after her sister died we ca see that her visions are changing and she decided to ask for the help in the only person to survive outside the net.

I liked seeing another couple and this time was a little more difficult because Vaughn’s animal is closer to the surface after all the time he spend in animal form while growing up. But Faith for me was perfect because she’s practically fearless and trusted Vaughn to help her all the way.

Summary:

As the vampire warriors of the BLACK DAGGER BROTHERHOODdefend their race from their slayers, one male’s loyalty to the Brotherhood is about to be tested – and his dangerous mixed blood revealed.

Caldwell, New York, has long been the battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the Lessening Society. It’s also where Rehvenge has staked out his turf as a drug lord and owner of a notorious nightclub that caters to the rich and heavily armed. His shadowy reputation is exactly why he’s approached to kill Wrath, the Blind King, and the leader of the Brotherhood.

However, Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood. He’s a symphath and the revelation of his deadly secret will result in his banishment to a colony for sociopaths. And a plot within and outside the Brotherhood take their toll against Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in the darkening world: Ehlena, a vampire untouched by corruption that has its hold on him – and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction.

Photobucket

Review:

Rhevenge was one of my favorites and his book showed his softer sides. He was always concerned about his family and every action was for the good od his family, so seeing this side of him with Ehlena was super cute. Ehlena has suffered a lot in life and now she’s trying to find some happiness, at first I thought these two didn’t fit very good together, but after seeing how strong and secure Ehlena is my points changed and she became a very nice girl.

As always the story also showed the rest of the Brotherhood and this time the focus was on John Matthew and Xhex getting some moments together. I liked these changes in John because it showed his growing into the fine man we all love. Wrath also made a huge appearance and we got to see more of his problems with controlling the vampires and the glymera.

Review:

Last book in this series and we have to say goodbye to these amazing characters. I loved Cat and Bones relationship, had some problems with the plot in some books, but in the general this series was a great Urban Fantasy read for me. Cat is strong and fair, always helping people, even if they are ghost or ghouls. But Bones was my favorite, his love was never ending and in every moment Cat needed his help, he was there for here. I can say that is a pretty awesome thing to say about a male that you chose to live with forever.

This story was different and perfect, because we get closure in the major plot and those sidelines characters, we see Ian again, he’s always there for Bones, but now is even more bittersweet after their relationship. I liked to see more of Denise and Spade, they are such a cute couple and he’s possessive of her with good reason, but the best part for me was the strange and twisted story behind that creepy guy working in her former unit for the government.

I tried not to say major spoilers for this book, but the story was fast paced and a great adventure too. If you read this series, beware to follow those books, because the last novella gave a huge push to this book.

Summary:

Originally appeared in the print anthology The Bite Before Christmas.

‘Tis the season to join Cat and Bones for some holiday cheer in this Night Huntress novella by USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost.

They were looking forward to a normal holiday—at least as “normal” as it gets for vampires Cat and Bones and their otherworldly friends and family. But their yuletide plans are shattered when a mysterious stranger shows up and reveals long-buried secrets that threaten to take a bite out of their holiday cheer … and lives.

Photobucket

Review:

This novella was a perfect fit for the series and it got me in a good mood for the next book. The holidays are difficult times for Cat and Bones, because every year somethings happen. I liked the plot in this novella, the demons are were only talked about in a spin-off series, but I liked the concempt, plus we got to see more of Denise in this one helping Cat. It was a little difficult for me to watch the way Bones treated Cat, but in the end Ian helped. I was never a huge fan of Ian, but he’s helping a lot lately.

Photobucket

Review:

This series has grown on me, but it’s almost over and I had such a hard time finishing this book. I wanted to love this story, but it was just to simple and a little confusing too. Ghosts are not my favorite in stories, but the more strange thing was how out of nowhere now Cat is the savior of the world and now every little thing must be addressed. I think it’s understandable how Bones always gets frustrated when their plans just disappear.

My first thought was how this plot was a little strange, but we also see some developments in Cat relationship with her mother, a super plus. The new director for the government agency Cat used to work was way too creepy, but his story will have to wait until next book. Guess my problem was the ghosts.

Summary:

Readers met and fell in love with Zsadist and Bella in J. R. Ward’s third New York Times bestselling novel in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Lover Awakened.

As a former blood slave, Zsadist bore the scars from a past filled with suffering and degradation until Bella came along and helped heal his emotional wounds. Now, though, with the birth of their child, the demons of his past have been resurrected, called forth by the innocent eyes of his beloved daughter, Nalla. Unless Bella and Nalla can bring him back with their love, he may be lost to them forever.

Photobucket

Review:

This novella was super cute. Zsadist and Bella are one of my favorite couples in this series and ever since we saw she got pregnant, and how dangerous these moments are for vampires, things changed a little in their relationship. We can see Zsadist more concerned with Bella but talking less about their life. Nalla was born in the end of the previous book and everything looked perfect, but reading this story is clear to me that Zsadist needed more time to understand the new reality and his fears are still very close to the surface, so it took him some difficult moments.

I loved this new glimpse in their life together. I think we could have more insights like this for the other couples, since we lose touch with them as this series grow.

Summary:

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other—six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. And now, a dutiful twin must choose between two lives…

Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood’s bloodlines alive. As Primale of the Chosen, he is obligated to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive, and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished.

As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body but his heart for herself. She is drawn to the noble responsibility behind the emotionally scarred male. But Phury has never allowed himself to know pleasure or joy. As the war with the Lessening Society grows grim, tragedy looms over the Brotherhood’s mansion, and Phury must decide between duty and love…

Photobucket

Review:

Phury was never my favorite and this time I was more focused on the side stories than on his. Cormia is a little to nice for Phury, I think he needed someone like Xhex to control him better, especially now that he became an addict. I loved Quinn and John learning more about their new life “together”. Those scenes with Lash were a little intense but worth it. We can clearly see the war is changing and those lessers are becoming more dangerous now that a leader has arisen.

So to me this book deserves a good rating for the developments in the series more than for the leading couple. We can see Rehvenge being important in this story and even Torh returning. So the book is huge and there’s a lot going on but we are never lost and that is something very important to me.

Summary:

Danger waits on both sides of the grave.

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they’ve triumphed over the latest battle, Cat’s new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance . . .

With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous “ally”; the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war . . . to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

Photobucket

Review:

My first read of the year and I rushed to finish, I liked the story but the end was a little to easy, the bad was a little soft and didn’t put much of a challenge. We could see the changing from the previous books and it was predictable to see those ghouls were up to something bad pretty soon. In this book we can see Cat and Bones trying to stop the murder of vampires. Those ghouls are following some stories that Cat could kill them all.

I liked two things from this story, we have more Vlad and all those friends decided to help. Mencheres has changed a lot since Kira became his new boo and we could see a different and more soft side of him in this book. Spade also changed, but only because now life is really dangerous for Denise and he’s always worried. For me the friends and all those funny moments made this book so much fun.
