Review: Wolf Nip by Vivian Arend

Wolf Nip (Granite Lake Wolves, #6)

Cat got your tongue?
Tessa Williams is looking to make her mark outside the family business, and the unusual landlocked paddle wheeler she spots in Haines, Alaska, strikes her as the perfect location. Only the owner is being difficult, refusing to sell. Still, she’s sure that replacing her written queries with a little in-person charm is all she’ll need to shortly have her Eco-tour B&B on the road to success.
Local wolf-slash-owner of said vessel, Mark Weaver, isn’t hanging on to the landmark building out of spite. There are more reasons for holding back the sale than are easily explained on paper. A face-to-face meeting to resolve the matter only confounds it—when Mark recognizes Tessa as his mate.
But she’s a cat…and cats don’t do insta-mates.
The sexual attraction between them isn’t in question, just everything else. He wants her. She wants twue wuv. His wolf can’t figure out what the holdup is. Her cat thinks the entire situation, and the pack, are rather amusing.
Somewhere in here is the beginning of a beautiful relationship—if they don’t drive each other mad.
Warning: One hyper cat, one laid-back wolf. Inappropriate use of permanent markers, and a heaping side dish of cat/dog jokes. Shenanigans (read: nookie) in front of a roaring fire. Spiced liberally with sarcasm. Enjoy!

Another fast and very fun story from these extremely horny wolves. I especially liked this one because it showed a different relationship. I never would’ve thought of mixing a wolf and a cat, but it kinda turned up really good, because these two are so perfect together.

Tessa is so vibrant and full of live, but has a few fears about success because of her family business and how much she doesn’t like water. So this new venture is actually everything she was hoping to start new, but Mark is really sweet and discovered right away she’s the perfect woman for him after his wolf scratched mate loudly.

It was really fun to read Tessa falling in love and trying to accepted the mating progress, because she was basically afraid, but everything turned up really fine and we could see a few of those other couples making an appearance now and them.

Into the best-laid plans a little chaos must fall…

Jared’s not sure how his quiet morning coffee near the harbour ended with him on a cruise ship impersonating one of his pack mates. Well, it might have something to do with a woman, but who can blame him? The female of the species was made to love, and he’s more than willing to share his considerable skills in that area. Especially since he figures the chances of meeting his own one-and-only are slim.

Keri Smith is positive the last-minute recruit sneaking aboard the Arctic Wolf Cruise Lines tour is her mate. Ix-nay on confirming that, though, at least for the next ten days. She’s promised her best friend to be overall troubleshooter for the shifter-only cruise. Getting tangled up in mating lust would reduce her skills to nil. Avoidance of the sexy wolf for the duration of the cruise, followed by jumping his bones, seems the logical solution.

But when libidos are on the line, “logic” and “wolves” don’t go together. Throw in suspicions of wrongdoing, and these two virtual strangers will need a lot more than luck to find their way through to forever.

This series is so much fun because we can see the wolfies getting in trouble and in love at the same time. Plus Vivian Arend writes really good sexy scenes. This mini books are like a bundle of jokes and laugh.

Jared was not what I expected because since book #3 I had the feeling he was just another sexual wolf, but after he shared his family ties and we learned more about his reasons for hiding. I didn’t even knew he was hiding in the first place, but it was a good plot.

Keri was a surprise, but I liked how fun and confusing their relationship started, not everything is flowers and roses at first and they handled it just fine after some plots were discovered.

Good book and a lot of action for a ship story.

Score one for the underdog…er…wolf.Granite Lake Wolves, Book 4TJ Lynus is a legend in Granite Lake, both for his easygoing demeanor-and his clumsiness. His carefree acceptance of his lot vanishes, though, when his position as best man brings him face to face with someone he didn’t expect. His mate. His very human mate. Suddenly, one thing is crystal clear: if he intends to claim her, his usual laid-back attitude isn’t going to cut it.After fulfilling her maid-of-honor duties, Pam Quinn has just enough time for a Yukon wilderness trip before returning south. The instant attraction between her and TJ tempts her to indulge in some Northern Delight, but when he drops the F-bomb-"forever"-she has second thoughts. In her world, true love is a fairytale that seldom, if ever, comes true.Okay, so maybe staging a kidnapping wasn’t TJ’s best idea, but at least Pam has the good humor to agree to his deal. He’ll give her all the northern exposure she can stand-and she won’t break his kneecaps. Now to convince her that fairytales can remake her world-and that forever is worth fighting for.By popular demand: Clumsy sidekick wolf grows up, sarcasm reigns, and the wilderness gets wilder. Includes hot nookie in places you expect-like a remote cabin-and places you don’t.

I was hoping for TJ book since I met him in Wolf Signs, but I did not like the fact his mate is actually human and he has to face serious troubles before actually find his happily ever after.

I liked how he made everything for her to understand the pact and how romantic he was, the kidnapping was perfect because knowing him from several books and he’s like a huge kid without sense of reality. I liked how she faced things but hoped for TJ to have a easy path to happiness.

Since Pam wanted the travel and TJ is working for his brother at the moment, he showed her all the beautiful places and tried to make her fall in love with him and hopefully accept his wolf nature too.

I liked TJ and his actions were nothing new, but the book had it’s moments of fun.

True love’s path never did run smooth. Granite Lake Wolves, Book 3 After seven years of total denial, Maggie Raynor’s body-and her inner wolf-are in full revolt. Weak and shaky, she literally falls into the very large and capable arms of the Granite Lake Beta, Erik Costanov. The last thing she wants is a mate, particularly when just looking at another wolf scares her to death. And one as big and sexy as Erik? Really bad idea, no matter what her libido says. Erik expected to meet Maggie in Whitehorse to escort her to the home of her sister, his pack’s Omega. Sheer chance puts him in the right place at the right time to catch her, but the realization that hits him with the force of a full body shot is no accident. She’s his mate. An even bigger shock? She wants no part of him-not until she resolves her issues. She’ll have to work fast, because they’re both selected to represent the pack during the premier sporting event for wolves in the north. Not only will she have to work as a team with Erik, she’ll have to face down her fear of wolves. Let the Games begin.

Photobucket

This book was actually more fun than the others, because we have the sexy Beta from the pack meeting his mate and a Olympics Games with wolves from all around the countries.

This was light and really fun to read. AJ as usual made the jokes and we got to see him helping the pack, but Eric was the best with control and also trying to deal with a mating and Maggie problems.

I liked how Maggie accepted Eric’s help and how the relationship evolved during the game. He made her trust him and never pushed for anything serious until she felt save and could handle her wolf.

Maggie is Missie sister and her problems are related to that awful pack introduced in the previous book. So is better to read this book after Wolf Flight because it makes easier to understand and relate with these two wolfies.

This was a sweet and short novella and we got to see a bit more of the characters from the first book. Since is Christmas and the pack is all about parties, the Alphas decided to enjoy alone time.

I loved Keil and Robyn from the first book of the series and now they have a little girl, so the night alone was a dream coming true. Nice novella.

Tad Maxwell’s workaholism serves to keep his bush-pilot company in the air, and his inner werewolf in check. In the two years since he discovered his heritage, he’s resisted the longing to test the power of his wolf side. It would mean compromising his human principles.

Then Missy Leason re-enters his life. Ten years ago, their teenage attraction never went beyond hand-holding. Now their chemistry is off the charts, pushing him closer to the step he’s not sure it’s safe to take, especially with a human.
But Missy is more like Tad than he realizes. She’s wolf too,and a wolf pack is a dangerous place to have secrets.

Missy’s Alpha has sniffed out her carefully hidden Omega powers. Her first response: run from the corrupt Alpha’s plan to make her his mate. Step two: get to Tad, and hope like hell his untapped powers are strong enough to negate her own.

Every touch with Missy is hot, hot, hot, but even finding out she’s pure wolf doesn’t solve Tad’s dilemma. Is she using him, or are they truly destined mates? Only one thing is certain. He will defend her to his last breath—on his terms. Even if it means losing his life.

Warning: Contains nasty Alphas, secret Omegas and werewolves acting raunchy on the dance floor. Sarcasm, wilderness cabins and hot nookie back by popular demand.

This is the second book in this sweet werewolf series. The fun part for me is the fact we already know the characters from previous books and have a few thoughts about the perfect mate for them.

Tad is a half wolf and needs a trigger to fully develop, we met him because his sister Robyn is now mated with Keil and their story was the first introduced to us in this series.

Tad always knew he needed a little help to became a wolf, but there’s a problem for him. He needs to have sex with a female wolf and the single ones can inprint in him and became obsessed thinking he’s their mate, so he doesn’t want to create these wrong feelings and being the good guy he chose to wait for the right time and the right wolf.

Missy was Tad girlfriend during high school and now she’s running from her pack, because the alpha killed her husband, since she wasn’t mated with him, and want her all to himself.

Missy needs to escape and run to Tad for help, but things got a lot more interesting when they actually mated and he didn’t want to believe because of the imprint. The only reason he accepted her was because she was a widow and he thought her mate was death, so no problem.

I liked Tad story and how these two actually helped each other when it was necessary. The action on the last chapter was impressive too. Great little story.

This series was a great surprise for werewolves lovers. These are short books with a thrilling story, about romance, action and pack rules. It’s very interesting for me to read about a werewolf pack and how they take care of the people and the environment around their houses. These are people worried about the nature and in constant race to survival.

This first book to this series is very different because Robyn is deft and has no idea about her abilities to chance into a wolf form. She learned to live and is quite happy with her life, but is always hoping for her family travels to Granite Lake. This year her brother can’t make it and she decides to go alone.

There she met two handsome guys and they shared a few secrets that changed her future. Keil lives in Granite Lake and decided to take over the Alpha position, but before that he went into travel with his brother AJ. I loved how Keil is very protective about family and explained about what to expect when becoming a wolf and of mated wolves to Robyn.

These two were a perfect match, but at first I didn’t expect Robyn to be a real Alpha, because she sounded so sweet and caring, that it took me by surprise when she used her power.

I liked this series so far and now I can’t wait for AJ book, he’s like a kid and it’s always in troubles.
